Emma sat in the dark, thinking.

She thought of all the moments she's spent with Gerald.

From their very meeting to their last encounter with Leo.

What was she scared of? And what was in her way to saying yes to Gerald?

After all she loved him too.

May be it was too soon to accept her feelings.

What if he's not what he seems to be?

What if he was just acting? She asked herself repeatedly.

She came to the conclusion that she was just scared of wasting her time, efforts and love only to be disappointed in the end.

But what if she gave Gerald a chance to love her?

What if he gives up and finds someone else?.

A cold chill ran down her spine at the thought of Gerald being with someone else.

She remembered how that girl looked at Gerald the other time; with her eyes full of admiration.

It was obvious she loved or perhaps likes him.

She didn't want to lose him. She'll give it a shot.

She cupped her cheeks in her palms and smiled .

It was a smile for a new beginning.

Gerald thought of Emma and never having her. He was never going to win Emma's heart and he didn't want to force something that wasn't existent to be.

Love is given freely.

He was not going to pursue Emma anymore.

She doesn't love him and she never will.

He switched off the lights and lied in bed. He liked sitting in the dark alone, with his thoughts. And he liked the peace and solitude that came with darkness.

He had to move on. He made up  his mind to tell Emma his decision.

He had accepted defeat and was ready to move on.

Emma went to the window and gazed at the stars.

The night came with a lot of beautiful stars.

"I love you, Gerald" she said into the air.

The wind sang and her long hair danced to the tune.

She closed the window and walked to the wardrobe.

She looked through her clothes unable to make a choice.

She picked a black dress and put it aside.

She saw the flowery dress her mother got her on her birthday.

Her mother said it will bring her good luck and many joys.

But the black dress was classy and elegant. It was beautiful on her.

She was confused between the black dress and the flowery dress.

She called Livia to help her out.

The never-disappoints-Livia got there in half an hour.

She threw her pause on the bed and stood behind Emma with her arms around her neck. They looked at their reflection in the mirror and smiled.

"So who's taking you out tomorrow?" Livia quizzed.
