"What?"Tide said. Amberscale was wide eyed and speechless. "How?" asked Tide
"I wasn't always old. " snapped Jaggedclaw "I was young once. When I first saw Cloudfangs sister Poisontooth I grew a care for her. Like you and Tide, Amberscale"
"How do you know?" Amberscale asked jumping up as Tide twined tails with her and smiled at her.
"Let me finish!" Growled Jaggedclaw
"I and her met at the Secret Gathering and we became friends then more. I discovered she had eggs and I was happy and terrified ,so we kept them secret and she told the clan they were abandoned and she named them Startooth, Skytooth and Snowtooth. It was before she died in battle she told her children as a secret and she was avenged as her killer was Boulder, a member of Tail Clan."
"So now I'll tell my story." Firetooth growled." My dad hates me because he wanted to rule Fang Clan for as long as possible and he knew I would change Fang Clan in ways he would despise, so he planned a raid on you so he could ditch me half dead and let you finish me. So do you believe me?"Jaggedclaw thought and Amberscale and Tide knew the blackness in Starfang's heart.
"Very well. I believe you and for your honesty you will be the leader after me." Jaggedclaw said graciously. Amberscale and Tide were relieved.
"Amberscale?" Asked Tide. Amberscale looked at him with an embarrassed expression "Do you-" Tide choked.
"Do I?" Amberscale replied. "Do-"
" Time is not to waste" said Jaggedclaw lashing his tail. This was a big moment after all. The wise leader's word was law and law was obeyed immediately.
