"Tide has a minor concussion, broken leg, and probably an infection in the eye, but he will be alright." Jaggedclaw confirmed to Amberscale. She looked at Tide, who winced, and somewhat smiled.
Amberscale looked down and sighed. She knew it was entirely true. He wasn't gonna make it. He wasn't going to meet Jaggedclaw expectations. An anger burned deep in her heart at Jaggedclaw. He set it up. She realized it like a Flash. He was no warrior. He was pretty much the skinniest velociraptor in the clan. She looked at Jaggedclaw who was expressionlessly starring at his face.
"Jaggedclaw, can we talk?" Amberscale asked. He nodded and left with her into his cave.
"You set this up didn't you?" Amberscale snarled.
"You couldn't face the truth." Jaggedclaw replied without bitterness at all, more just doubt. "He's not what you think he is."
Amberscale let a moment of silence be and then left not understanding.
"Amberscale... Er... Congrats on the position!" A Raptor complemented.
"Thanks Moonfern." Amberscale stated. Moonfern was a very nice and intelligent Raptor. "By the way what's been up?"
"Sorry 'bout Tide. He's probably gonna be blind- or dead." Moonfern looked down at the Ceratopsian carcass. "You should eat. Once the meal is officially over- you'll need your strength."
Amberscale nodded and ate a bit as Moonfern ranted about the latest news. She began to think about the next challenge... "Oh no..." Amberscale forgot all about it. She stumbled back. She had to fight Firespar to be- potentially to the death.
