Amberscale was speechless. She couldn't talk to anyone. They discovered a while later, Moonfang's body had disappeared and investigated everyone in the clan. Amberscale refused to talk to anyone outside and tried to sleep. She tossed and turned and thought about Moonfang. Why would he do that? We're is he? Alive? Dead? Moonfang? Amberscale felt her eyelids get heavy and her legs and neck get sore. She heard a loud noise outside her door and saw a skeleton of a large raptor. A Utahraptor? Still then, She thought. It's pretty large. There was no noise and only silence. The skeleton's tail seemed to twitched and a voice rumbled. "The stars haven't seen this before. This power. Who are you?"
Amberscale turned around, to see no one. "Am-Am-berscale?"
"Do you fear me? Amberscale?" The omniscient voice uttered with power and grace.
"Yes." She said.
"Good. Your name was Amberscale, but Now you are Flameheart. Your mind and heart are in the right place. The Moon smiles upon you and we gift you the eyes of the moon. The thoughts of others are now for you to see. May pain subside and it cause your heart to grow. This is not your only power however..." Amberscale awoke breathing heavily and with blurred sight. "Flameheart..." a voice awoke her "Flameheart!" It was familiar... Friendly... His scales were a Iridescent white...
"Moon?" Amberscale asked
"I had a dream; we're changed- I'm alive!"
"MOONFANG?!?!!!" Amberscale nearly yelled but her voice was to raspy and shooken.
"Shhhhh.... The Patrol!" He whispered.
"There so loud." Said Amberscale hearing murmurings overlapping. "If only we icould of caught the gallimimus... Jaggedclaw didn't eat dinner... I hope the Tide is alive... Why is Amberscale so silent... This is Tiring"
"Shh... it's there thoughts... Follow me. I'll explain everything." The mysterious raptor went out the door. "All clear. Come on follow me."
Amberscale moved out and followed the strange iredecent scaled raptor. He led her across to the kajrael Jungle. "Flamheart, I share a prelude to your dream... Do not fear."
"Well you interupted it." Amberscale grumbled.
The Raptor flinched and winced as if he stepped on a briar. "I'm so sorry I-I don't know what to say— Follow me." He skidded off. Amberscale followed but with reluctance.
His scent was familiar to Amberscale. Like someone she once knew. It was mingled with another sweeter scent as well. The way he moved, the way he held his claws... It was all so familiar.
He eventually pointed to a tree Amberscale noticed as the KarroKarro Tree. A tree of massive size. Young Raptors often went with their mates and prove themselves. It was seen as a place that resembled Truth, Knowledge and Love. It was over a steep climb that could be navigated but with caution.
"I must show you something. There." He whispered.
Amberscale nodded, then hesitated, no longer half awake. "How can I trust you? Who are you? Where do you come-"
"I'm from no where, I am no one, -and I can't make you trust me." He grumbled "Let's go."
Once more they were off, and they climbed the Steep incline to the famed trees that marked the area clans met in peace each two moons to exchange news, ideas, and answer questions.
"We are clear." The Mysterious raptor relaxed. "So I have a lot to explain. Not much time." He glanced at the moon.
Amberscale stares at him, in confusion, doubt, and found herself dumbfounded for several seconds. " Who are you?"
"Nightwatch. You would know me as Moonfang." He spoke and then whispered softly in the Ancient language. "The stars have granted me new life. Or so you could say. There reward for the sacrifice I guess... Anyways the stars told me you are destined for greatness, for the while I was among them. They were... more than sincere."
"What did they say?" Amberscale scowled. "How can I be sure your not some spy?"
"As ferocious as ever." Moonfang chortled. "You know I always loved that about you. I loved everything about you. But I knew you loved Tide. Everyone does."
Amberscale scoffed. "I'm not the lovable type." She knew she could be, but she wouldn't.
"I beg to differ, but not now. They said that there is something inside of you. Something no other raptor has. You may be small, but no other dinosaur could have a larger heart, to quote them."
"I beg to differ." Amberscale scoffed. Her mother always thought she wasn't the soulful-loving type, which is saying a lot. She always tried to be a fierce, dedicated warrior, but realized sympathy is a great weapon. Despite the size of a velociraptor, though sometimes she'd go to desolate areas and try to cry to prove to herself she had some emotion.
"No, I know you hide your emotion, and you do it well. You were at one point going to tell Tide, right?" He replied.
Amberscale sighed, holding back tears "Yeah I guess. He is dead isn't he?"
Moonfang sighed "There is little to help him now."
Amberscale coughed to cover the feeling in her throat. "What do I do then?"
Moonfang froze for a second, and slowly replied "He's fighting off the infection, but whether or not he'll make it is uncertain.
She swallowed anxiously. "Should we go-"
"Not me." He interrupted. "Remember I'm supposed to be dead."
Amberscale nodded and thought a second and the thought passed by if it's the last time... And bolted back. She looked back at Moonfang who gave a dreadful look, but she continued to go onward. Those words just made something click. The last... time...
