Hey! Hope you enjoy. The prologe is in present tense, but the rest is in past, so... Just to avoid any confusion XD. Enjoy!

PERCY'S POV

I can’t stand half-light. The dark is comforting, enveloping, like soft velvet, or the voice of my girlfriend, and at the same time endless, boundless, keeping you ignorant as to where one reality ends and the next on begins, and allowing you to believe that you could go on for forever into that soft-edged darkness and nothing would stop you. The light is honest, true, sometimes harsh, but never showing half-told stories and withholding the rest, never leaving you to wonder if what you saw was real or invention, just shadows leaping across the field of your imagination. Half-light lies. Half-light lets shadows bounce off your walls, and lets your fears run free with your vision, dissolving the wall between reality and irrationality. Half-light makes you wonder, alive, or dead, or somewhere in between?

At least, that’s the way it is for me. After all the time I spent in the Pit with Annabeth, somewhere between life and death, understanding and ignorance, numbness and fear, you can understand why I hate in-betweens. Not to mention the constant reminder that half-light is of being there, not just symbolically, but literally. There was never full light in Tartarus. Never really darkness either. Just a persistent half-glow that let us see, but barely, that just reminded us that we weren’t where we were supposed to be.

At the moment, I’m not too fond of being a half-blood, another in-between that’s caused me more trouble than it’s worth. But I can’t change that. So I live with it. And with the constant danger, and fear, and impossible odds, because I don’t have a choice. This is the story of how I met another kind of in-between. Not quite mortals, but definitely not gods. I kind of liked these, though. They weren’t bad. They weren’t constant reminders. This is the story of how I met the wizards.

Hope you like the way this seems so far... The actual story might be up in about a week, just so I have time to get the storyline and characters together and shiz. So... See ya next time!

P.S. Percy won't stay all dark and philosophical and stuff. He's still the same Seaweed Brain we know and love. I just really liked the idea of him feeling that way about in-between stuff, and I figured, why not let him explain it?
