Helloski! This is my first full-blown fanfiction, so it might take a bit for me to really get into it. But I hope you like it!
PERCY
It was a day like any other after the Giant War. Fairly relaxed, with general reconstruction efforts due to the skirmishes that took place between Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter before peace was negotiated. I was teaching swordfighting to the younger campers. Annabeth was probably off teaching Ancient Greek somewhere. She and I were closer than ever since Tartarus, not to mention a good deal jumpier. But we were careful not to show how our "trip" had affected us. Nightmares were worse, but that wasn't difficult to cover up. Not in an empty cabin. And for Annabeth, well... Everyone had nightmares at a camp like Camp Half-Blood, and if some are worse than others... It's not too hard to hide.
The lesson finished, and, after capping Riptide and putting away the practice swords, I decided to take a walk in the woods to relax before my next lesson. Dark and cool, but dappled with sunlight, the woods were the best place at Camp to think. I crunched over twigs and stepped over roots and rocks, absentmindedly twirling Riptide between my fingers as I let the shadows consume me.
Crack. I jumped, uncapping Riptide before I even knew why, and whirled towards the source of the noise. Nothing was there. Nothing that I could see, anyway. But... Wait. In front of a tree, about five feet from me, there was a ripple in the air. Like you would see above a campfire. And it was vaguely person-shaped.
As soon as I had registered that, in a flash, I had pushed the - strangely solid - ripple against a tree and had Riptide at its throat.
"Who are you?" I growled. "What do you want?" To my surprise, I heard elderly-female chuckling.
Suddenly, there was no ripple, and instead there was an elderly woman wearing a weird pointed hat and an emerald green cloak standing in front of me. She had a faint smile on her face as she said, "I am Minerva McGonnogal. And you are Perseus Jackson, just as quick and dangerous as promised. I'm a friend of Chiron's."
I made a noise that must have sounded unconvinced, because she continued speaking, saying, "If it would make you feel more secure, feel free to escort me to the Big House. I must speak to your director about an urgent matter."
"Alright," I said slowly. "But you should know. I have had bad experiences with unidentified women, so you try anything funny, and you're a shish kebab."
She just smiled a bit, deepening the wrinkles on her wizened face, and said, "But of course."
We maneuvered around so I had Riptide pressed against her back and she was walking in front of me, and we made our way towards the Big House. Just because she looked old didn't mean she didn't have some hidden power. I learned a long time ago not to judge someone on how they look. Appearances can be, and often are, deceiving in Greek "mythology."
We arrived at the Big House to see Chiron talking to some campers on the front porch. He looked up and saw McGonnogal and me standing there, and his head tilted to the side confusedly.
McGonnogal said, drily, "I see, Chiron, that you have kept your campers woefully ignorant of my intents to visit."
Chiron looked mildly uncomfortable. "Ah, yes, well... You see, I rather expected that you would walk across the border as opposed to apparating into the forest in an attempt to gain trust."
"Well, it's too late for that now, really," McGonnogal said offhandedly. "We have much to discuss. The start of term grows closer by the minute, and you will need as much time as possible to prepare if you are to help me."

FanfictionHey! I figured I'd give this kind of story a shot. It's done a lot, I know, but, well... I really liked the idea, so I thought, why not? This is how CHB and Hogwarts meet, and some major shiz goes down. Enjoy! (Updates are a little - or a lot - slow...
