*Gasp* Chapter five! Welcome! I must tell you: I leave tomorrow for a week-long trip for cross country training. And I'm not sure if wifi will be available or not *gasp.* So, unfortunately, this means that I won't be updating for about a week. I will make this chapter long and good so that I can leave with a clean conscience, though, so enjoy!

HARRY

The two boys circled each other, remnants of grins still on their faces though their eyes turned cold and calculating. Sometimes they feinted, or shuffled, but mostly it was just lithe, fluid motion and wary eyes.

And then, almost faster than we could see, Percy made the first move. He stabbed out with his sword, and Jason parried, and then they were exchanging blows like lightning, blocking, stabbing, slashing, ducking, all with perfect timing. And then the first exchange ended and they backed away, catching their breath and looking for openings.

They continued to fight like this, Jason starting the second frenetic exchange, for several minutes. It was like a dance, a graceful display of power and strength. They were fairly evenly matched, which made for an interesting fight. I didn't see how they were still going after so long. For another several minutes, it was all fighting, no pulling back, no waiting. Frenzied blows were exchanged, not just with swords, but with feet and fists.

They fought like they did this for a living. Ginny, Hermione, Ron, and I were amazed. But they continued to fight.

Eventually, Percy spoke up. "This is taking a while, do you want to give the others a chance?" he asked, while simultaneously slashing at Jason's feet making him jump back before swiping down at Percy's head.

"Are you yielding?" Jason asked, a smile on his face as Percy blocked Jason's blow and returned with one of his own.

"Never," laughed Percy - yes, laughed - as he vaulted over Jason's head - you heard me - to avoid a vicious swipe of his sword.

Jason whirled around, but it was too late. Percy whapped him in the back with the flat of his blade, pushing him to the ground face down. He pointed his sword at Jason's back, and said, grinning, "Dead."

Jason rolled over onto his back and said, "Okay, fine, now let me up, would you?"

Percy pulled his sword away from Jason's chest and offered a hand up, which Jason took. Once they were both on their feet they turned to us, and, noting our awed expressions, bowed. Well, Percy bowed, and just pulled Jason down with him.

"That, boys and girls," said Percy, adopting the voice of an elderly teacher, "is sparring."

"Finally," said Annabeth, glancing up from where she was conversing with Piper. "If you two are quite finished, the rest of us would like to practice too, you know."

"My apologies, madame," said Percy, and swept his arm out in an expansive gesture across the Weasleys' backyard. "The field is yours."

"Any volunteers to fight the lady?" asked Leo, mimicking a carnival caller. "Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, step right up!"

Annabeth slapped the back of his head. He stopped.

"Really, though," said Annabeth after a few moments of stretching. "Who wants to? I can't fight myself."

"Oh, I will," said Hazel immediately. "That plane was torture, I need to blow off steam."

They all seemed to have had an issue with the plane ride, and I wondered why. I didn't have much time to consider that, however, because before I could think much about it, Hazel pulled what looked like a cavalry sword out of thin air.

She warmed up, swinging it around in complex patterns, before saying, "All right, I'm ready."

Annabeth pulled a bronze-y dagger from a bag I hadn't noticed she had. (She got a new one, because she preferred knives to swords.)

Ron couldn't seem to stop himself from asking, "That's it? That's all you're using?"

Annabeth looked at him, her eyes glittering with intensity. "Yes," she said lightly. "Problem?"

Ron shook his head.

"Good. Let's get started, Hazel."

Their fight was slightly faster than the one between the boys, but still longer than I think I would last. Hazel was great with her sword, and Annabeth was amazing with her knife, finding miniscule openings and calculating several steps ahead to get where she wanted to be. Eventually, Annabeth was grinning from behind Hazel, with her knife pressed to the poor girl's throat.

"Dead," Annabeth said calmly, and then pulled her knife back.

Their practice went on in a similar fashion for several hours, mixing and matching opponents - Percy and Annabeth fighting each other were amazing - and teams. The first time we saw Piper fight - against Leo with a jagged, wicked-looking sword - I think I heard Ron's jaw hit the ground. She was good, too. She ended up beating Leo after a while of going back and forth.

And then, Mrs. Weasley called us in for dinner. In we walked, even more in awe of the Americans than before.

I'm sorry it's shorter than I meant it to be! But I have to leave really soon and I didn't want to post nothing... I will make up for it with a super-extra-special-long chapter when I get back. See ya next time!
