Hellou! Hope you all liked the last chapter, and I hope you like this one too! Enjoy!
PERCY POV
That night, as per usual, I dreamed.
Flashes of images assaulted my mind's eye, shapes and colors superimposing themselves against the backs of my eyelids.
Annabeth wandering blindly towards the edge of a cliff, alone and abandoned no matter how hard I tried to get to her.
Bob and Damasen charging the spirit of the Pit, sacrificing their lives even when I would have much rather sacrificed mine.
Happy scenes, Annabeth and I kissing in the canoe lake, flickering and darkening into Gaea's twisted future, Camp in ruins, Annabeth's invisibility hat laying ominously amongst the burning wreckage.
Controlling poison and torturing Akhlys, the look of horror in Annabeth's eyes, the fear in the eyes of our friends when we finally told them what had happened.
And then, a female face, neither kind nor malevolent, staring at me, black eyes boring into my thoughts, blonde hair whipping around her face in a nonexistent wind, her pale hand reaching out and touching my forehead.
I shot awake with a gasp, my eyes flying open and my back arching with the intake of oxygen. But no matter how wide I opened my eyes, for several seconds all I could see were words and numbers scrolling across my field of vision faster than I could comprehend. Voices muttered in my ears, pitches and words overlapping into an unintelligible cacophany, like white noise. Then I blinked, and I could see the red and gold draperies of the Gryffindor dormitory. The noise stopped.
I pushed myself upright and looked around the room to see that Leo, Jason, and Frank were also breathing heavily, staring around the room with wide eyes.
"What," I panted, "the Hades was that?"
Moments later, we were down in the common room, where we found the girls already situated in overstuffed armchairs.
"It happened to you, too?" asked Jason, looking at Piper in concern. I checked over Annabeth quickly - as she seemed to do the same to me - before satisfying myself that she was okay, and perching myself in a chair across from her.
"Hazel knows why," said Annabeth, her voice low. "She said she couldn't explain until we were all here though."
All of our eyes turned to the gold-eyed daughter of Pluto, and she raised her hands in a placating gesture.
"I know it was disorienting," said Hazel calmingly. "But it wasn't anything to worry about. Lady Hecate came to me in a dream, and told me that she had to give us the ability to do magic before classes began. This was the easiest, fastest way she could think to do it. I certainly didn't agree, but... Goddesses do what goddesses want..."
"Gods," I said exasperatedly, tilting my head up against the backrest. "She woke me up and temporarily blinded me, so I could learn a bunch of Latin roots with weird suffixes stuck on?"
"And so you could, you know, possess magic, but yeah, that's the gist of it," Hazel shrugged.
"Seaweed brain, that was almost intelligent," said Annabeth teasingly.
"You know, the Hat considered me for Ravenclaw," I said indignantly.
"Of course," said Annabeth, standing up and kissing me on the nose (if I said my cheeks didn't get a little red, I'd be lying). "I'm only teasing. Now, seeing as it's already" -at this point she grabbed my wrist and checked my shield/watch- "5:30, I'm going to get dressed."

FanficHey! I figured I'd give this kind of story a shot. It's done a lot, I know, but, well... I really liked the idea, so I thought, why not? This is how CHB and Hogwarts meet, and some major shiz goes down. Enjoy! (Updates are a little - or a lot - slow...
