Chapter Thirteen

I didn't have kids to worry about feeding and taking care, I didn't have bills to pay, a stepfather and a mother to wait for, and not even a job to worry about.

I don't have my previous life to think about.

All I'm thinking about now is: Who am I?

Does it means that my whole previous life was a lie?

I sighed and stood up from the bathtub adjusting my hair just as the bathroom door came open.

-"Don't fall asleep in th-" she didn't finished because she froze there, and then, her eyes traveled from my face, to my chest, down, and down...and the door widened and Steve came in talking about finding me or something, but froze too at the sight.

-"GUYS!" I shouted and sinked back in the bathtub.

Steve dragged a flushed Eva out of the bathroom and I heard him laughing and talking to Vivian and Math.

Suddenly, the bathroom door calm open again, but aggressively.

-"EUG! Let die in peace!" I whined hiding my face with my arm, while clutching my stitched injury with the other.

Suddenly, I was lifted from under my arms like a kid, and my arm slipped from my face, and I was looking at a worried Matt.

-"Matt? What? You wanna see me nak-" I didn't get to finish because I was carried out of the bathtub, rolled onto a fluffy towel, and lifted up to be put on my bed.

He started drying my hair with a towel, and threw it aside.

-"All fresh and new!" Matt said suddenly with a smile, and it was a gentle one.

-"Don't treat me like a baby" I groaned.

-"Sorry, I always wished to have a baby brother to pamper, and talking about Eva, she is a girl, and I knew her only five years ago, but believe me, she is the most adorable creature in the world" he finished with a dreamy look and smile.

-"Talking about Eva...she walked on me..." I couldn't finish because I felt my face on fire.

And instead of hearing laughers, I saw a gentle smile.

-"Let me see your injury Dylan" he said as he unwrapped the towel and let it slide to my hips, covering my lower body and leaving the injury with a few damaged stitches in display.

-"Why didn't you cover it before taking a bath? You just worsened it and it will take more time to heal" he said.

And I felt like an idiot for forgetting something important like that.

Matt worked on the injury and covered it once he finished.

-"And don't worry about Eva, that's how me and Vivian jumped to the next stage and discovered we got feelings for each other" Matt said with a smile.

-"What?" I said in surprise.

-"Well, Vivian an I know each other since we were kids, we lived in the same town, I am older than her by five years, so, we weren't classmates or something like that, she was living with her grandma, and we were neighbors, I used to be her best friend, helped her study, and we passed a lot of times together, until I graduated and went to university, I didn't return for a few years, medicine wasn't an easy major, I had a lot to do, so, we were texting and emailing each other, but then, I returned one day for the holidays because my mom requested, and the day I came back, I went for quick shower" he said giving me a wink.

-"And?" I asked in curiosity.

-"And it wasn't a quick shower because Vivian was quicker, she just banged the door and walking in, and we both froze, because the young girl became a young lady, and she was seeing me all naked and glorious, after that accident, we discovered that we got feelings for each other because we got so embarrassed that we avoided each other for a week, and then, her grandmother invited me over for a dinner, and we worked things out, and we went on our first date, spent a week together, and I got called by my father to tell me I got a little sister waiting for me, so, from shock, I came her to find a hidden truth that I ignored, i didn't get in touch with Vivian, and when I tried, there was nothing, I returned there, but heard her grandmother passed away and she moved"
