i woke up the next morning and smelled food. i walked into the kitchen and saw Ryan and Jayden playing 2K on the xbox arguing and yelling about how Lebron was better than Kobe. i had forgotten they've known each other since they were 10. i heard the doorbell ring so i walked to the door . it was my sister with Kaycee. i opened the door .

"Shania , how was she ?"

" bad as always " she said joking and handing Kaycee to me.

" you wanna come in ?"

" yeah i got some time" she said walking in .

"Baby , who at the door ?" Jay yelled still into the game.

"Shania and Kaycee . " i said back

" oh , wassup fam , GOT IT, he yelled talking to Shania , and the TV screen.

"hey Jay , Ryan , dang April , ill be back in about a hour just realized i gotta go pick some stuff up for Jazzy . she said heading out .

i laughed , " okay bye " i closed the door and walked up to Jay and Ryan . gave Ryan a hug and Jay a hug and a kiss.

"i thought i smelled food baby ?"

"yea we picked up some ihop its in the kitchen. he said like he was annoyed . i guess he was just into his game .

i picked Kaycee up placed her in his lap ,

" watch her " i said grabbing my purse , in my pajamas and getting in my car . i just felt like going for a drive.

I found myself at Lyric's house . Lyric was like my brother , he was there with advice , comfort , family love , support everything. Suprisingly he was working in his yard so , i just walked up to him outside.

"April ? , what you doing here ?" , he said cutting off the lawnmower

" riding around , so i stopped here" i said giving him a cheesy smile.

"in your pajamas ? " he said laughing at me.

"yes , dont worry i smell , ya know , decent." i said walking in with him following behind me.

"How you been , I haven't seen you in minute ?" He said sitting on the counter

" I've been okay , me and Miranda got into it , but I mean this wouldn't be my first time so it's whatever. I said sitting on a barstool .

"dang ma , he said laughing . , y'all always mad at each other , we'll I'm glad to hear you got your own spot , but I like how you haven't told me where you stay .

" I'll text you the address , we gonna have a house warming soon anyways , but I gotta go get Kaycee ready for her appointment so text me okay ? "

"I got you , he said hugging me .

It was something about that moment that just seemed perfect . I know I'm not falling for him but , I just seemed secured wrapped in his arms , I felt safe , I liked that feeling . I let go , and walked to my car , got in and made my way back to the house.

I pulled in my driveway and went in the house , surprisingly the only person there was Ryan and Kaycee .

"Um , Ryan where is Jay ?"

"He went to a day party." he said sounding aggravated

"So he just left you here with Kaycee and didn't tell nobody." I said catching an attitude

"Yep , soon as you left he left shortly after."

I went into our room , closed the door and called Jay.
