I opened my eyes, only to be welcomed by a bright light. There was a shift of movement that I had never heard before. Or, not while I was sleeping. It startled me. That was until, I looked up, and saw Ari, playing with her stuffed animals with Brianna, and Jake, was looking at something on his phone. Brianna must've heard me getting up, because the second my eyes began focusing, she was standing at the edge of my bed. "G'morning!" She exclaimed, sitting on the edge of my bed. "Morning 'all," I replied, rubbing my eyes. The pale blue iris's had to refocus. The usual empty and dark room was creaking more than ever, as there were more people in it than ever.

"Well, in a little bit, Brianna, you and I will have to go cook breakfast, since it's uh.." I checked the bright red numbers on the alarm clock. "Only Seven. Breakfast starts at around ten, so we can go up at nine, and I will teach you the basics. Jake, you're probably the eldest out of all of us, so you'll do the easiest chore, and check on the little ones, Ari, you're the youngest here, so you don't have to do much yet, I'm sure Oleson will have you meet some of the other little kids, and you all will probably go play in the drawing room or something." I said. Brianna and Jake nodded, while Ari didn't seem to be listening, only urging Brianna to play some more.

After about an hour and a half, We all began to get ready. Ari put on a cute little pink butterfly dress that she found somewhere, Brianna put on a punk shirt that said, 'Thrasher!' with a pair of denim shorts. Jake, however, kept what he was wearing, and put on a leather jacket over his shirt, to make it look somewhat nicer.

I, on the other hand, put on a light red T-shirt that said, 'Life is too short.' But, ironically enough, the shirt was too big for me, so I called it my irony Tee.

At Nine o'clock, Brianna and I walked down to the eating room, and I showed her how to make the breakfast food that we normally had, Pancakes, Eggs, Biscuits, Gravy, and Bacon. I was lucky, because Brianna was a quick learner, because we made enough breakfast for seconds, something the orphanage had never seen.

After breakfast was served, Oleson called out on the very old and rusty intercom, which she only ever used if it was an adoption time. "Will all children please come to the adoption hall? Thank you." Even through the intercom, Oleson sounded screechy and old.

I walked to the adoption hall, with Ari at my side, squeezing my hand, giggling. (I had just told a joke.) Brianna and Jake are behind me.

The adoption hall was a large pale peach room, with great big doors that lead to the outside world. Did that even exist anymore? I slowly stood up straighter, when Oleson appeared from her office, at her heels, were two men. One had dark black hair, and dark brown eyes, the other, also had dark brown hair and pale blue eyes, like my own.

A few kids gasped, whispering "Markiplier and Jacksepticeye!" And I realized why they had seemed so familiar. I had come across their channels when I was watching some horror videos. Though I wasn't very obsessed with their channels, it was cool to see them in the real world, whether I watched them or not.

"Children, this is Mark, and Sean, however, you will call him 'Jack.' They're going to adopt, and I expect you all to be on your best behavior!" She said this loud and clear. And, slowly, child by child, they interviewed each kid in the orphanage, everyone walking out with either a happy grin or a grimace.

After a few minutes, Ari was called in. She walked into the little office, and came out what seemed to be forever later, when she came out, she was accompanied by Mark and Jack, and a downside came to my stomach. It was obvious they had chosen her. It was a shame too, I really liked her a lot. I could tell Brianna also felt down by this.

However, what I didn't expect was for her to point avidly at Me, Brianna, and Jake. I furrowed my brows, but she waved her hand in a 'come here' motion so quickly I thought her hand would fall off. I skidded over to her. "Ari? What's wrong?" I asked, concerned, holding her hand to stop it from falling off. "And don't wave your hand like that! You might hurt your wrist!" Snapped Jake in a worried voice. This made me laugh though, despite me never hearing him talk, he cared very much for Ari.

Ari grinned and spoke in her high cute voice. "Mr. Mark, Mr. Jack, this is Lily, Jake, and Bri!" She said cutely. The two smiled softly when they glanced at us. I wonder if they felt pity, or happiness, because they surely sounded happy when the next words came out of Jack's mouth.

"Harrieta, We'll take these ones." Said Jack, his voice thick in an Irish accent. Oleson, looked surprised at first, but then realized who he had been pointing at, and smiled softly. "I knew it." She whispered, scribbling down some things on some paperwork. "Just sign here, here, and here. And you four go get your things." She said, pointing to us.

I slowly made my way up to my bedroom for the last time. I was happy to be leaving, but actually really sad to leave as well. The Orphanage had been my only home for 14 years. I had lived with my family for only one year before I had been transferred. Nobody ever bothered telling me why they left, or if they were alive.

I packed up my beanie, Laptop, phone, and a pair of earbuds. I then made my rounds around the room. Ari was cramming the last of her stuffed animals into a bag, Brianna (Bri) was putting some clothes and a cute tiger-eared headband into her bag, and Jake seemed to have packed everything, therefore, he was helping Ari pack, and helping her decide what she was and wasnt gonna keep.

It only took us, oh, you know. Twenty-Five minutes to pack.

When we had all finally got our shit together, which took TWENTY-FIVE minutes.

Sorry, twenty-five minutes is a lot for four kids to pack like, a drawer of things.

We took our time getting down the four flights of stairs. Especially with two bags, and a suitcase (filled with small stuffed animals.) But it seemed that the two adopting us didnt mind us taking our sweet lord baby Jesus time, because as we got down their, they were speaking to Madam Harietta.

"Righto! Lets go ahead and get your stuff in the car." Mark, stepped forward to take our things, he, out of both of them, was clearly the strongest. Jack, seemed small and skinny, had stayed back.

Calmly, but quietly, I followed Mark out to their car. It was a nice large car. I put my things in it, and the other three did the same.

"Come on shortie!" Yelled Mark.

"I'm not short!" Complained Jack, who, I noticed, was shorter than Mark. I giggled.

"Well, you are pretty short, Mister Jack." Giggled Ari. Jack tickled her. "I'm not short, you shortie! You're shorter than me!" He jokingly let her go, and she hopped into the car. Brianna and Jake followed suit.

I smiled and stood in my spot, lost in a random thought. I didn't realize I was staring blankly at the sky, until I felt someone nudge my arm. It was Mark. "Hey, look, Madam Harrietta said you'd been in that place for a while. I uh, hope you find us and our home welcoming." He put his arm around my arm, and ruffled my wolf ears.

"Now get in the car kiddo."
