First Part of a two part chapter.
In almost no time at all, did I hear Jack on the phone with the same girl he had video-called with earlier. His eyes lit up when she spoke, and somehow, I thought she was going to turn Jack bisexual or straight. I was worried.
Mark spent more time making videos, which made me worry as well. I had told Ethan about these worries, and he said to never worry, because if something was wrong, he, Jack, and Tyler would know first.
I don't think he knew what I meant.
I meant that Mark was going to go insane if this girl was here. I meant that he was pushing away his problems, and they were going to bite him where the Sun doesn't shine. I meant that he wasn't going to be okay, even though everyone said he was.
I ended up spending more time in the kitchen. Not even for real cooking, just in there, testing out and seeing the best way to make things was. Jack ordered me a cookbook as a little joke, but its actually really great and interesting!
He didn't see what I meant.
My fingers relaxed my grip on the book, as I dropped it to the ground. My hands and wrists were shaking. I don't know what was wrong, but I knew I was having a panic attack. I inhaled and exhaled slowly, trying to calm myself. I heard yelling from the living room. I didn't move.
I heard more yelling, but I couldn't move. My body was shaking. What was I so panicked about? The yelling got louder, and more hoarse, and I made out a female voice, and three male voices. I heard crying. What was wrong?
Finally, I picked myself up and forced myself into the living room. Everyone was arguing. Ari was crying and hugging Chica. My anger took over my fear. I stopped shaking from the panic attack. I was shaking out of anger.
"SHUT UP!" I screamed. Everyone went silent. I was shaking from anger. Did anyone in my family have the decency to be quiet when a little girl was crying?
"Honestly! Ari is crying, and you all are being absolute dick-bags. What's the point in arguing anyway?" I snapped, glaring at Brianna, Jake, Mark, and Jack. "We were so happily talking about who the hell Signe was and why nobody had bothered telling us she was staying here. Also, Jack's apparently bisexual now." Jake snapped, venom in his words.
I almost screamed. My throat was hurting. Tears were streaming down my face. What kind of family was this? Everything was so happy. Did Signe really make my family want to scream at each other?
I wasn't gonna let that happen.
Picking up Ari, I wiped her tears. "Don't cry little angel, you're okay.." I whispered. Ari buried her face in my shoulder.
"You will all sit in silence until I get back, and we will settle this like a family. Chica, Follow." I commanded. The golden dog got up and followed me up the stairs and to the left.
I opened Ari's pink door and walked inside. The room was dark. I flicked on the light and made my way to Ari's bed. I laid her down on the bed and pulled the blanket over her. Her light blonde hair was all tangled, but I took no notice of it.
"Go to sleep, okay? I'm going to leave Chica in here, and I'm going to settle things. By tomorrow everything will be okay." I whispered, kissing her forehead. She nodded and closed her eyes. Chica jumped on Ari's bed. I flicked off the light and cracked the door.
"What the fuck happened?" I whisper-snapped, walking down the stairs.
"This asshole of a father, just told us his 'friend' was coming by, and her name was Signe. To which Mark responds, 'Oh are you bisexual now?' To which Jack responds, 'I might as well be!' What the fuck is wrong with you guys?" Brianna remarks, glancing over at them.
