I pushed open the front door. Silence. I pitter-pattered through the empty house. I found Chica laying down in front of Mark and Jack's door. Silently, I leaned towards the door and listened and heard nothing. So, I quietly knocked.
Silence.
I pushed open the door and the whole room was empty. I shut the door.
I began walking around the whole house. Where was everyone? My worries began settling in. Surely they hadn't just left without telling me? I mean even a note on the door would've worked very well.
My worries were set with terror. What if something happened. Of course, being the idiot I am, I broke down into sobs and screams.
The recording room door burst open and Mark looked at me with confusion in his mocha brown eyes. Impatiently (and relieved) I brushed my tears away. That scream was going to haunt my vocal cords for a few days.
Mark softly hugged me. "Lily, are you okay?" He asked. I nodded, still momentarily worried. What if Mark and Jack had left? What if it was all a dream?
"Mark I'm scared." I whispered. I knew there was nothing to be scared about. But that intense fear was going to haunt me. Maybe for ten minutes, maybe for a few days. But I knew it was going to. Terror was so real.
"I thought you guys were gone and I was alone again and I'm terrified." I whispered quietly. Jack appeared a second later. His pale blue eyes were wide with confusion and fear. Suddenly Jack was on the ground and hugging me too.
"Lily-bug, its okay." His Irish voice was no longer loud and happy, but quiet and soothing. I brushed away my tears impatiently. "I'm okay," I mumbled.
"What happened?" Jack whispered. "I didn't see anyone and I was afraid you guys had left and then where would I be? Where would I go? What would I do?" I barely managed to gasp out the sentence. Tears weren't stopping. I forced them away as I leaned into Mark and Jack's embrace.
"Where are Bri, Jake, and Ari?" I asked.
"Jake and Ari went to Felix's, and Bri went to go hang out with some of her friends, Ivy and Izzy." Mark explained, to which I nodded. "Okay."
"Come on." Mark helped Jack and I up. I gave a small sigh. I was extremely embarrassed and felt really nervous for some reason.
----
I woke up in my bed with a note attached to one of the bed posts.
'Taking Chica on a walk, there's food in the fridge. ~Mark and Jack'
Huffing, I pushed myself off of the bed and tossed the note loosely in the trash. I opened my bedroom door and walked out. The house was silence once more. I walked down the staircase and walked into the kitchen. Brianna was eating some cereal and Jake was making Ari a microwave meal.
"Hi Lils." Brianna said, getting up to hug me. Ari and Jake beat her first and squeezed the life out of me. Brianna pulled them off of me and hugged me herself. Her long black hair now had the tips dyed a midnight purple. Her pale white face now had makeup on it, which magnified her emerald green eyes.
"Whoa, what happened to you?" I asked. She smiled a bit, "Izzy, Ivy, and I went out and got our hair dyed and our makeup done. Mark and Jack were fine with it," She assured. I nodded.
I walked over to the kitchen cabinets and pulled open one of them. I grabbed a bag of cookies and sat next to Brianna and across of Jake and Ari. I began eating the cookies. Ari tried to grab one, but Jake stopped her. I batted Jake's hand away and handed Ari a cookie.
"She's a kid, let her have fun." I said as she ate the cookie. Jake scoffed, "Whatever."
Brianna shrugged her shoulders at me and we both laughed.
As we were finishing our food, Mark and Jack came in with Chica. The pup ran over to me and pawed at my legs. I gave her a big kiss on the forehead and pet her for a minute. That's when a question poked into my head.
"Where is Signe?"
Silence. "She left on a quick flight back to Brighton this morning after you left. Something about problematic children." Mark said, giggling slightly.
"Mark did you drive her out?" I asked. He tried to hide his warm grin. Jack looked happy, and that puzzled me. "I thought you were her friend? I thought you..." Jack shrugged, "My loving husband and children are more important than some bitch." Brianna screamed, "OH! ROASTED!"
I snorted into my glass of water. Chica yapped, the energy transferring into her loud bark. It took some time to comprehend what Jack and Mark had done, but at this point, I didn't care.
"So... ever heard of the YouTubers Dan and Phil, or Gloom and Azzyland?" Mark prompted.
"Yeah, why?" I asked, looking up.
"Well both of those pair adopted a child, and Sean and I were wondering if you'd like to meet them?" Mark responded, to which I nodded. "Sounds good, whats their names?"
"Rose Howell-Lester, daughter of Dan Howell and Phil Lester and Cameron Bajrami, son of Azzy and Kassima Bajrami."
