Breakfast time was full of awkward glances between everyone. No one knowing what to say to Arabella.

"Are you all normally this quiet?" She asked, looking up from her bowl of cereal that had turned soggy after drowning it in milk.

"Not normally" Bruce spoke, taking a sip of coffee to fill the rest of the silence that had fallen over the Avengers.

"Well- is there anything anyone wants to ask me? I can tell you're all curious about something." She spoke. Arabella had been feeling the burning stare of all the people in the room on he since the moment she sat down.

It was intimidating and it was making her uncomfortable.

"Sorry" Steve spoke. feeling the need to apologise on behalf of everyone. He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable after only one day.

Bucky was making his way into the room, going to the fridge to grab a bottle of water. His top wet around the neck, sweat lining his forehead. He had come straight from the gym, preferring to work out before anyone else had the chance.

He took note of how quiet it was, assessing the situation in front of him.

"What's going on?" he asked oblivious thinking something bad had happened, his stomach twisting in the peculiar way it always did when they were told bad news.

"Nothing." Bruce spoke slowly, feeling the tension in the room.

"Why is everyone acting like someone just died?" Bucky spoke glancing around confused.

"I'll be in my room" Arabella mumbled. Pushing her chair away from the table, placing her discarded bowl of cereal in the sink to wash later.

She fled the room wanting nothing more than to cry and pack her bags to leave. But she didn't have the last choice, instead opting to hide herself in her room, lock the door and quietly sob underneath the comfort of her duvet.

"What was that?" Bucky asked watching the girl leave with a frown etched onto his face.

Steve sighed, running a hand over his face, annoyed at himself and the others for how unwelcoming they had just acted.

"Did someone say something to her?" Bucky asked, pushing to know the answer. He was starting to get frustrated at the lack of answers he was receiving.

"That's the issue, no one said anything" Steve spoke, shaking his head.

"What a great welcome" he mumbled under his breath, taking the seat Arabella had just fled from.

"Goooood morning" Tony piped up walking from the elevator. "what have I missed?" He asked seeing the sullen looks on everyone's faces.

"What have you done now?" he spoke his previous smile falling as he took in how distressed everyone looked. "where's Arabella?" he asked noticing her missing presence.

"They scared her off" Bucky spoke looking around judgementally, his eyebrows raised, and his shoulders lifting and falling in a shrug as no one made eye contact with him.

"Bunch of fools" Tony mumbled. "FRIDAY" he spoke.

"Yes Mr Stark." The animated voice sounded through the kitchen area. "Where is Arabella?"

"In her room Mr Stark. would you like me to request her presence."

"No need to, is she okay?"

"Miss Blackwood has a heightened heart rate but does not need any medical attention"

"Thank you FRIDAY" Tony spoke glaring at everyone. "you idiots made her nervous" he said glaring at them all collectively.

"In my defence I had nothing To do with this" Bucky spoke, putting his hand up in defence and looking disappointedly at the rest of them.
