The weight of warm sheets engulfed Sam, pressing down on him lightly. The scent of something cooking wafted into his nose. Everything was silent, except for the ticking of a clock on the wall. He couldn't remember the last time he slept in a bed this comfortable, or even felt this well-rested. Where was he? How long had he been out for? His eyes fluttered open, blinking a few times to clear the bleariness. The walls were painted a light creamy white, framing a window with matching curtains that flowed slightly in the outside breeze, letting in the cool morning air. Sam rolled his head to look up to see Gabriel sitting on his legs, the archangels own legs straddling him. He wore red gym shorts and a simple white tank top, much more skin exposed than he usually showed.
"Morning sasquatch," He smiled and leaned down, planting a peck of a kiss on Sam's lips that was enough to send heat tingling throughout Sam's body. He wiggled his legs loose from Gabriel and sat up in the bed, confusion so overwhelming he didn't even know where to begin. Why couldn't he remember anything? What happened? His puzzlement must have showed clearly as Gabriel frowned. "You feeling alright Sammy?" Gabriel asked, reaching forward to touch Sam's forehead, which Sam almost welcomed before grabbing his hand to stop him.
"I...where are we?" Sam managed to say, eye darting around the room. Nothing seemed familiar.
"Did you do LSD or something at Five Guys last night? You're in our bed in our house. Damn it Sam I told you if you ever did drugs to give me some too," Gabriel crossed his arms and exaggerated his pout. Sam still had trouble finding his words, mouth hanging slightly open. He couldn't remember the night before. Or the night before that one. He furrowed his brows in frustration. He was about to ask what had happened last night when Gabriel shrugged, swinging his legs to hang off the side of his bed. "I guys you did get pretty drunk last night. You can never hold your liquor well," He grinned teasingly, a twinkle in his eyes.
"That's not true!" Sam blurted defensively, beginning to ease into the unrecognizable environment.
"Really? On St. Patrick's day you had like three beers and tried to steal a boars head on the wall with a granola bar as a screwdriver." Gabriel retorted.
Sam's face flushed in embarrassment. Did he even remember that? Yes, that must have happened. "Touché," he mused, smiling. Then he shoved Gabriel off the bed and so he sprawled on floor over dramatically. Sam woodshed the sheets off his bed and swung his legs over, standing up. He had on a plain grey t-shirt and boxers to match. For a reason he couldn't place, he didn't mind being half naked in front of Gabriel. It felt comfortable, actually. He reached a hand to Gabriel who took it and jumped up, slugging Sam in the shoulder in return, with impressive force. "Oh, you want to fight?" Sam asked, cracking his knuckles like a classic movie scene.
"You started it. Come at me, moose!" Gabriel put his fists up like an amateur boxer. Naturally, Sam bent down and picked Gabriel up by the legs, slinging him over his shoulder as though he were no more than a sack of potatoes. "Hey!" He exclaimed in protest, wriggling around but Sam kept a tight grip. He walked out into the hallway. The house was pretty, with dark wooden floors and wall trimmings, doors leading into the bathroom and laundry room, before leading into the living room, which was standard with couches and chairs around a coffee table. "I got food in the kitchen!" Gabriel spoke up, still slung over Sam's shoulder. Sam smiled in delight. He turned to the couch and threw Gabriel down on it, losing his balance briefly and so he fell on top of him, a pressurized exhale followed by laughing coming from Gabriel. Sam got up on his hands and knees, right over Gabriel who looked up at Sam playfully, Sam grinning down at him.
"I love you, Sammy," Gabriel's voice was smooth like butter.
"I love you too," The words came so easily to his lips now, and so did his actions, as he lowered his head and kissed Gabriel. Sam hooked his arm under Gabriel, right in the middle of his back and flipped them so now Gabriel was on top, and Sam under him. Gabriel was heavy but not enough so that his breathing wasn't hindered. Sam's grip around Gabriel tightened, and his hand traveled up the crook of Gabriel's neck, locks of his luscious hair wrapped between his fingers. Their kissing filled Sam with warmth, and he began to travel down Gabriel's neck, being gentle so he didn't bruise him. After what seemed like many blissful years but at the same time painfully short seconds, Gabriel placed his hand on Sam's cheek, causing Sam to stop and look up at the swooning smile on the archangel's face.
