With Gabriel's powers intact, the archangel was able to whisk them away to New York city in a flash, placing the gang and Baby in an abandoned alleyway. The sudden change from the silent, stuffy atmosphere of the bunker to the cacophony of people talking and cars zipping by on the street made Sam's head spin. He closed his eyes shut and shook his head to adjust.
"You alright?" Gabe asked.
"Yeah, that snap transition just gets me sometimes," Sam looked at Gabriel and smiled, though this faltered as he noticed Gabe's tense shoulders and eyebrows pinching the middle of his forehead. "Are you alright?" Sam returned the inquiry.
"Moving three humans, a car, a bajillion weapons, and myself isn't exactly easy. I'll live though," Gabriel assured Sam. Sam nodded.
"You two done worrying over each other? It's enough to make me sick," Dean groaned.
"Leave them alone Dean, they're just young and in love," Castiel said with a light teasing tone.
"Hey I'm older than you!" Gabriel shot back, pouting to hide his embarrassment.
"This isn't a romcom, come on, we have work to do," Dean interrupted before the antics could go any further, "We're going to investigate the NYPD and see if we can find any leads. Gabe, Sam, get out and change into your suits behind a dumpster or something."
"You're going to change in here? With Cas?" Sam cocked a suspicious eyebrow.
"I'm comfortable with my masculinity, it would just be crowded with you two in here. Hurry up!" Dean snapped, talking quickly. Sam snorted.
"Okay, bossy," He held up his hands and stepped out of the Impala with Gabriel, grabbing a duffel bag that contained their suits from the trunk. They slipped between two dumpsters, out of sight from passerby or Dean. It helped that it was night too, the stars light barely reaching down through the towering empires that encircled them, the blackness of the Impala likened to that of the sky. They had decided it best to infiltrate the NYPD late at night, as those on their night shift would probably be too exhausted to care who was rifling through their files. The two undressed and slipped on their suits in an efficient manner. Sam looked down at his suit to make sure everything was in order. "Do I look okay?" he asked Gabriel.
"You always look better than okay," Gabriel winked, "What about me?" Sam chuckled softly at Gabriel's tie - it looked like headphones that had been carelessly stuffed in a pocket.
"Your tie looks horrible. Here -" Sam stepped forward and undid the mess Gabe had made of his tie, making it nice and neat. Gabe looked down at his tie than up at Sam, their bodies only a centimeter apart. Sam bent his head down and gave Gabriel a kiss, not the long makeouts they had had the past two nights, just a swift one, one that said "I love you" before heading out of the house for the day. There was a silent moment where the two just looked at each other, their eyes soft and smiles gentle. "Ready?" Sam finally asked. Gabriel nodded and they walked out from behind the dumpster, slipping back into the Impala's backseat. Dean was in his full FBI outfit while Castiel had, for once, gotten rid of his trench coat to leave just his suit underneath. Dean passed out fake badges to all of them, Gabriel and Castiel carefully reading their alias' as to not forget while Sam was sure he could tell which badge was which just by the material of the casing. He slipped it in his pocket and Dean started up the Impala, pulling slowly out of the alleyway and heading down the road, winding through traffic as they went on their way to the NYPD.
They weren't too far from the building, so it didn't take long to arrive. It was easy to spot, with unfitting giant neon signs hanging over it's entrances like it was some cliché 90's restaurant. It was out of place for a police station yet fit in with the rest of New York - loud and attention-seeking. The four exited the car in sync, crossing the street, Dean holding up a hand to stop oncoming cars.
