Lacey POV

After me and Skye got the letters yesterday I opened up to her a bit and we became even closer if that is possible. Its been three days since we got them and we leave in two weeks so we descided to start packing now. Since me and dad are on non-speaking terms still, not including the day we got the letters, Skye has been getting her money to buy new stuff for the academy but she has been tricking dad into giving her more cash when she needed. Skye gave me the extra money to buy stuff.

We were going shopping today to buy a few things to decorate our dorm rooms. Just me and Skye since neither of us have freinds anymore. I had around $200 to use while Skye had about $600. She said she was going to share but I wasnt going to let her use it on me.

"Lacey you ready?" Skye knocks on my door, for once.

"One sec!" I call back and quickly pull my blonde hair up into a ponytail before checking my outfit. A pair of black skinny jeans with a band shirt (All Time Low) and one of my famous leather jackets over the top with a pair of combat boots.

I went to the door and me and Skye walked outside easily since dad was out and he wouldnt let us go out. He has been acting very weird lately but I dont know if Skye has noticed, is should ask her soon. We had to walk to the mall which was three blocks away since neither of us could legaly drive yet.

"Skye" I say but she takes no notice.

"Skye!" I scream loudly in her ear and she shreiks in shock before pulling out her earphones I didnt know she had.... woops?..

"Wha.. Yeah Lace?" she asks

"Have you noticed anything strange about Dad lately?" I ask her.

"You mean like the late nights in, red eyes and yelling when he gets home?"

"Yeah. Its very weird" I say and she just hums in answer before shoving her earphones back in. I didnt press on it and we walked in silence to the shopping centre. Going inside the building Skye ran straight for Target. I followed her but at a walk instead of a sprint. Skye grabs two basket wheelie things and hands one to me before racing off.

Instead of following her I go to the bed sheets area and pick out a icelandic horse set and just as I was about to leave a small dark blue bean bag caught my attention. I wasnt going to buy it but the price was cut from $100 to $40 so I had to get it!

After that I went and collected a alarm clock and a small lock and key just as I ran into my sister. How her basket was piled high already I have no idea. She kead the way to the cash registers and pays for her gear and goes to wait just outside. I pay for all mine and carry the two bags over to where Skye was waiting. I didnt see her so I headed to her second favorite shop Assefs.

I found her inside with a suitcase sitting beside her while she looked at some polo shirts. I helped her descide what shirts she wanted and got some for me as well. Navy, Purple, Red and a orangey colour where the colours of the shirts I got. Pink, Purple, Green and white were the colours Skye got.

After getting the shirts we headed over to the clothes section after dropping the gear off at the front desk with Skyes other bags. Skye got a few pairs of jeans and a school bag and I got a nice pair of jeans as well before we went to the shoes section. We both got new riding boots as well as a pair of sneakers each. Then I grabbed a few beanies and we went back to pay for everything. Skyes total was $250 dollars while mine was $98. Assefs is not cheap!

After paying for our stuff we loaded our arms with the bags and headed to the next block over where 'Tilly's Equestrian Shop' was located. Skye just got a new helmet but I descided to use up the rest of my money and brought lots of things. Johdpurs, Chapettes, a helmet, horse dictionary and a horseshoe keychain. Just as I was about to hand over Just as I was about to hand over the money a purple and black journal sitting in the display case caught my eye.

"How much is the journal?" I asked the sales lady.

"Fourty dollars dear" she answers and I was taken back. Fourty dollars for a journal?

"Would you like it?" she asks me

"No I cant afford it" I answer glumly with a shake of my head.

"Then you can have it" she says and pulls it out before shoving it in one of my bags. I go to refuse but the lady gives me a stern look so I just payed and left. Skye was supposed to be outside waiting for me but she wasnt. Her bags were on the floor next to the dooe though. It was then I heard screaming coming from the alley next to the horse shop. I raced around there to see Lexis freinds beating up my sister.

I run over and try to help her but they just beat me as well. Then a girl with red hair runs over and beats up all of them by herself! She helps us to our feet and introduces herself.

"Hi I'm Louise Parker and I saw you guys in trouble so I came to help" she says and blows some of her hair out of her blue eyes.

"Thanks. I'm Skye and this is my twin Lacey" Skye thanks her and they start talking while I stood there akwardly. When one of the bullies started to stir we left the alley and went back to the horse shop to get out bags wich were right were we left them. Skye thanked Louise again and got her number before we left to go home.

When we got home dad was passed out on the lounge with a empth bottle of whiskey onWhen we got home dad was passed out on the lounge with a empth bottle of whiskey on the ground next to him. Me and Skye sigh and she goes to grab a blanket while i go to clean up some of the mess he made.

I started by grabbing the other empty beer bottles from the floor and throwing them in the bin. Then i clean up the vase of flowers i got for my birthday two years ago. Me and Skye had a bet that i couldnt keep it alive for a month, i showed her! After cleaning up the other mess and throwing everything out in the trash i went to grab the bottle from his hand. I threw it out aswell just as Skye came back with a thick blanket and a pillow from his room. I lift dads head up while she puts the pillow under it. Then we go upstairs and into our rooms.

I get changed into PJ's and grab my doona from my bed and drag it to Skyes room with my horse pillow pet in my other hand. I dyed its blaze purple and Skye dyed hers pink because we got the same pillows. Her door was already open so i waked in and dumped my gear on her floor. Skye shoved her doona off her bed and onto the floor next to mine before throwing her pillow pet down as well.

That night we watched a heap of horse movies before falling asleep.

AWESOMELY LONG CHAPTER FOR YOU AWESOME READERS!! Sorry for the short chapters lately but we have both been busy and havent had much time to write.
