~~Twelve Years Later~~
Today is the day, I have turn eighteen a few days ago, today is the day where myself and six others climb up Uykaio to reach the Nest. We've been waiting for this day for a long time since forever I think. Akin gained his dragon Moon, a white as snow dragon. She's a pretty dragon that breathed white fire, everyone said it was a rare thing to have a dragon like her. Akin saw her as his other sister so I had another sibling when Moon came into our lives. Akin loved her, so did mother and me. Akin would take me on rides with Moon to get me used to riding, Moon loved having me ride with them. Moon was another member of our family.
Today is the big day for the seven of us. Ever since the attack that night everyone's been itching for payback. There were four boys and three girls, I was friends with Nima. She lost her mother during the attack, only her father made it back. Nima stood next to me while we wore our traditional outfits and painted symbols on our bodies. The grand wish woman stood in front of us praying for us, when she got to me she stopped.
"Let's the guidance of the grand leader of our clan protect and guild you to your dragon." She spoke of my father, for him being the leader of our clan so her blessing to me was a little more. I bowed my head to her in respect, she raised her hand. "May the guidance of your dragons led you to them, may you reach the top to the Nest of the Dragons." We all raised our hands into the air and stood up.
"You got this Kiza," Akin said as he stood on my left with mother. I smiled at him and nodded my head, the ground shook as the tree grew from the ground and into the air.
"Let's do this," Nima said smiling, we all smiled and made our way to the Uykaio.
Soon we began our climb up the Uykaio, we climbed up slowly it would take us a while before even reaching the clouds. The further we climbed up the more wind that blew against us, the higher we climbed the more the winds felt like they were trying to making us fall. Nima slipped when the vine she grabbed on snapped and she fell, she was right above me and when I heard her screaming I quickly wrapped a vine around my wrist and reached out. Lucky for us both Nima was within reach and got a death grip on her wrist. We both were hanging off the Uykaio, I was upside down hanging on for dare freaking life. I tried swinging Nima towards the vines but she couldn't grab ahold. The others tried climbing down to help, all but one. Traven lost his mother and was under very strict rule by his father, so he was eager to please him. Traven didn't even look down, that dick. The others were able to help Nima back to the Uykaio and helped me get back upright. We started climbing again, didn't take long to catch up with Traven.
While climbing the air was getting thinner but we didn't notice, being taken on rides with other dragons riders helped us a lot. We kept going wanting to reach our goal of becoming riders. We were getting closer to the top, the edge of the nest could be seen. Upon seeing the edge I stopped moving, I looked around the sky and could feel something bad was coming. It was the same feeling I got the night of the attack. I thought maybe it was my imagination so I started climbing again. But only a few climbs later I got the feeling again and I stopped, looking behind me my heart dropped. As I saw tiny creatures in the sky becoming bigger, they were getting closer. My eyes widened as I knew what it was. Looking up at everyone, they didn't know.
"Incoming!!! I screaming they look at me then out into the open sky to see enemy riders coming our way.
"Climb faster! GO GO GO!!!" Nima shouted as everyone started speed climbing. I'm sure everyone down below knew what was coming and had to be preparing to come up here and attack. We kept climbing even when the enemy started shooting fire at us.
"Climb inside the Uykaio!! Use the vines as protection!" I shouted and everyone listened, going into the Uykaio as we continued to climb up.
I was right a few minutes later our riders were fighting them, trying to pull them away from us. We kept climbing until finally reaching the top. I was last cause I was making sure everyone else had made it when I looked out at the battle I could see something that hunted my dreams for twelve years. I saw the Bone Dragon and his rider. When I saw him, I felt like he was looking right at me, right into my soul. I glared at him while my blood started boiling. I decided to get revenge when I have my dragon, I could feel him at a distance from me. It was weird, Akin told me that he felt Moon like she was right in front of him but my dragon wasn't anywhere near me. I climbed up top and saw everyone else touching their dragons. But I didn't see mine. I looked around but mine was nowhere to be seen. Nima looked at me with confused eyes, then the Uykaio started shaking. Everyone had to mount up on their dragons and fly off. But I stood there in shock, my dragons wasn't here waiting but I could still feel him. I looked over and saw a black cave, I could feel something pulling me towards it. I took a step forward when something flew up right at the edge of the nest, I looked back to see my greatest enemy right behind me. I stared at him while he watches me, I couldn't see the riders face behind the mask but I didn't care. I wanted his blood on my hands for what he did to my father and my people, but also for the many others. I heard the rumors, we weren't the only ones he had been attacking. Countless lives have been lost to his attacks. Staring daggers at him didn't last long because when I saw his dragon begin to open its mouth, I sprinted to the cave. Just when I was about to reach the cave I was hit with the blast of fire, I was thrown into the cave. I slid down some kind of slide going deeper into the cave.
