UNDAUNTED she was, her figure proud and tall amongst the rest; her ice blue eyes fixated on the enemy before her.
“Ayase,” a tall, broad-shouldered man smirked, stepping forward with a bat in hand. “What a pleasure to see you here.”
Ayase yawned casually and stared aimlessly at him before flashing a confident grin. “Very much so.”
The man growled and held his ground, evidently getting angrier with every second that passed. “Don’t play games with me, Ayase.”
“What kind of games?” She asked, sounding genuinely curious. “There is no game in this. You are the one turning it into a wild goose chase.”
His grip on the baseball bat tightened, his knuckles turning a blinding white with the effort he put in to restrain himself.
“And don’t talk to our boss like that,” one of the girls surrounding Ayase protested, her long dark blue hair — that appeared black in the shadows — billowing gently behind her in the soft breeze blowing.
“It’s quite alright, Sonoda,” Ayase spoke up, authority ridden in her tone. “There is no need to waste your time on a scumbag like him.”
The hood of her ice blue cloak fluttered briefly, before it was smoothed by her hand, revealing her blonde hair for a moment.
The man snarled louder, until he could not take it any longer, and yelled for his men to charge at them.
Smirking slightly, Ayase stepped back and let her three comrades take them head-on.
It was quite obvious that Ayase’s small group was pushing forward, and as the man’s entourage was lessened with every kick and punch the girls threw, he himself charged at Sonoda as she threw a dagger that hit one of his men squarely in the heart.
Yelling out a warrior’s cry, he threw himself upon her and started smashing the baseball bat into her sides.
Ayase, who was still watching, had her blue eyes narrowed, so much so that they appeared to be similar to a fox’s.
“You are going to regret that.”
