🦄Betty's Point Of View~

Cora is my favourite little girl to work with. She loves everything from the flower magnets on my fridge to the extra biscuit I put on her plate at dinner time. She's always so happy and so lovely all the time, and it made me happy that I have helped her get to this place.

When Cora was a baby she had a 30% chance of making it to the age of 1. She defied the odds and through all her setbacks she came out fighting. Her parents were told that she would always be two years behind in school because her brain wouldn't develop as fast as the other kids did, but she puts 100% into everything she does, even if it's colouring in.

She was strong for a ten year old little girl. Stronger than most adults I know.

I looked over to her who was grinning at the salon lady painting her nails her favourite shade of pink and giggling as she counted her fingers as she went.

"What colour are you getting yours Betty" she giggled.

"White" I grinned.

"I want white now!" She frowned.

"Well get white next week and I will get pink so we will swap!" I laughed and her face lit up.

"You have to get pink because jughead likes pink he told me so"  she said.

"Why would jughead care about my nails Cora?" I smiled.

"Because he loves you" she giggled.

I raised my eyebrows at her and she grinned mischievously.

"How do you know that" I laughed.

"He looks at you funny, and that's how max looks at me because he loves me" she shouted laughing a big toothy grin.

"Jughead doesn't love me" I scoffed.

"Betty, I know he does, I'm never wrong" she giggled.

"No , you never are ,are you?" I giggled taking her hand and walking down the street towards her house.

So on top of beautiful, inspiring, intelligent and extremely confident, my little Cora is now a love guru. There is nothing this little girl can't do.

"Right Cora I'll see you next week, maybe we can get our hair done!" I smiled.

"Yayyy" she giggled and ran into her house.

"Thankyou so much Betty! Cora never stops talking about you and it's the high light of her week coming to see you, I just want to thank you for everything you've done for our girl" Cora's mom beamed.

"It's no trouble, Im really enjoying working with her!" I grinned.

"That little girl is going to be the president of the United States one day!" I added with a chuckle.

"Here you go sweetie we'll see you next week" she said handing me an envelope in which I assumed had my wages in.

Inside there was a note:
"Cora has came so far because of you and I can't thank you enough, please accept this as a token of my appreciation and gratitude, buy yourself something pretty, carol x"

The envelope had my usual wages in and an extra $200. My eyes widened and I stepped back stunned, this can go in my rainy day fund. My emergency fund in case I'm late on rent or electric or groceries.
My mom secretly transfers $50 a week into it just to keep it topped up, she thinks I don't know but internet banking is a very special invention.

I smiled with glee as I walked down the road, happy on the impact I had on Cora, her mom was so thankful and I don't even do that much for her. It shows how the company of a good friend, someone who will listen will go a long way, boost confidence, it develops foundations for future relationships and that is why I do my job.
