👑Jugheads Point Of View-
Betty hadn't slept properly in a month, since we found out. We've been in Riverdale since. It's Christmas in a few weeks and she's lost. We all stayed in Betty's childhood home. Polly was there with the twins. She stayed in the guest house so the babies didn't keep us up all hours of the night.
Cheryl came around a lot, but barely got anything out of Betty. Nobody did. She stays in bed all day, ignores the world. Closes the curtains so the outside world doesn't seep through the cracks and remind her that her mom and dad are gone forever.
Shortly after the phone-call and we arrived in Riverdale that night it was confirmed that they are dead. Neither girls, Polly nor Betty could stomach identifying them so the good family friend Fred Andrews had to do it. They were on their way to a weekend away along with Hermione and Hiram lodge. Their car tipped over and killed them, the lodges car following behind slammed on their breaks and crashed pretty bad, but they lived.
The funeral was today and Betty showered. She's so weak she could barely stand in the shower so I had to draw her a bath and wash her hair. She tried to conceal the tears with the water from her bath and it shattered my heart to see how broken she was.
"I'm not going to ask you if you're okay, because your not" I started.
"I feel so bad Juggy" she whimpered.
"I know" I said leaning over to kiss her forehead. My lips lingered and I inhaled her scent. She had lost a lot of weight, even skinnier than she already was and it worried me. It scared me. I needed to help her. Get back to normal. But what's ever normal when something like this happens? There will have to be a new normal.
I dried her hair for her, brushing every single tat out. She did a full face of makeup to hide the bags under her big green eyes that were almost to wide as if she was expecting for her mom and dad to come back at any moment.
She put on her black dress and black cardigan and scrapes her hair back into the iconic Betty cooper pony tail that I love so much.
"I'm ready" she breathed sat at her dressing table.
I stood behind her, my hand rested on her shoulder as I looked at her through the mirror.
"Thankyou for putting up with me, I know I haven't exactly been the best recently" she said weakly touching my hand, I gave it a squeeze.
"Baby B, I haven't expected you to be, it's my job to look after you and I'll do it in a heart beat" I said stroking her hand. And for the first time, in a month, I seen my girl smile. A genuine smile, one that actually reached her eyes, one that made my heart flutter 7 months on, one that only Betty cooper could pull off.
"Saying goodbye might finally make me come to peace with it all" she sniffed.
"If not, we can come back here, sit in your garden, get drunk and talk the world back to sense" I chuckled and then noticed how her eyes lit up, my baby B is coming back.
🦄Betty's Point Of View-
My legs buckled as I made my way up to the stage. I breathed, and I breathed and as I exhaled my last shaky breath I opened my mouth to speak.
"My mom and dad, well where do I start. They were terrible people, my mom had a facade that she kept up for all you Riverdale people. They weren't who they said they were, who they made out to be.
Prissy and perfect, this towns motto. You were all so quick to turn your noses up at us when the slightest thing happened. My sister Polly got pregnant at 16, this towns opinion on that: shame on you. That's disgraceful. So my mom and dad wanting to keep our reputation 'dealt with the situation'. My dad was the sweetest man. My mom, my number one hero, I don't blame any of you for their death. Non of you could help it. But I can't help but think, this town with pep, that's prided for having the most money, the perfect family, the best job, could do better.
