Half an hour later, the villagers arrived at an open place, full of nature and a few houses being build around. The sky was becoming a mixture of orange filled with fluffy clouds here and there, a soft wind blowing around the place.-We're here already. For now, we should divide the places between us. It surely will take time to build the rest of the houses but working together we can overcome this!- Some of the Old Corona people agreed and Varian dropped his bags, walking towards a house with Rudiger.
-New home, Rudiger... I'm sure I will miss Old Corona but... Here, we'll be better without those black rocks destroying everything.- Rugider seemed sleepy and so Varian noticed. He giggled quietly, leaving the raccoon to sleep comfortably on his shoulder.
Soon, Quirin approached his son, telling him to follow his lead. He did so, following his father while asking him what would happen to all the villagers because of the lack of houses around the place.
-I will make a distribution for now, Varian. While we fix the place and unpack everything, stay here and no alchemy for now, alright?- Varian nodded and walked into his new home, looking quite simple but comfortable for two and even more people. The living room had a gray color, plain furniture with a connected kitchen and some staircases going up at the left and at the end of the kitchen another pair of stairs, going down.
-It's a bit bigger than our last home... But this time, I'll start from cero and make sure to show my father what the power of Alchemy can do!- He smiled to himself, leaving his hands on his hips.
He turned around, walking to the entrance and grabbing the bags, returning inside and leaving them in his new and bigger room. The room didn't had a queen sized bed but the bed was pretty and enough to rest well. It was perfectly located near a wardrobe and a little mirror hanging on the wall, at the other side of the room. Varian grabbed his clothes and started to leave them inside the wardrobe, along with his warm coat that he kept for colder winters. Even if he didn't knew, the coat smelled simply wonderful. Perhaps like cinnamon rolls?
He left (Y/n)'s satchel near the wardrobe and grabbed out the book he was reading, along with the other three books. He eyed them and sighed, having a tiny but strange vision...
-Varian, please consider what you're saying...- Her soft but anxious voice was resonating his mind
-No, (Y/n)! They betrayed me, I have nothing else to think about this.- He felt anger piling up inside him, seeing blurry images and only listening the voices just like an echo.
-Varian, listen to yourself! This is not okay, y-you can't just turn against Corona!- She told him back, the fear starting to be noticed in her voice.
-She broke a promise and now this is all her fault! Didn't you see how she turned her back to us a-and kicked us out from the castle?!- The anger inside him felt so real, so... Familiar
-I'm sorry, Varian...- The blue eyed boy watched how everything turned white, a soft voice calling him in the distance.
-Varian... V-Varian...? Are you listening me?- Soon, the voice became more and more closer, sounding just like Quirin.
-Varian? Son?- Quirin shook Varian's shoulder and he came back into reality, wondering how much he stood there in silence, having a strange vision -or perhaps a flashback-
-Are you okay? I was talking to you and you didn't replied.- Quirin saw Varian with eyes that showed worry and afraid by just looking at the books that (Y/n) gave him, apart from the devices.
-Y-Yeah, I think so... What was that you wanted, dad?- His dad still looked unsure of letting Varian have the journeys and such strange things but he decided to talk about it later.
-I would like you to help with the food, it's important to start now.- Varian nodded and remembered what he created earlier that day. He could use his newest experiment to make food grow faster and the villagers would be very grateful with him!
-Oh, dad! Can I use my new experiment?! I promise that this time it's going to work and it won't explode!- Varian was filled with hope that he was at least one step closer of making his father, for the first time, proud of his own inventions.
-Varian, we did talked about this-
-Dad, please! Just have a look at it and if the liquid doesn't work, I'll try my best out there in the field. Please?- His father sighed in defeat, looking at the boy with such bright eyes.
-Alright, Varian. Let's see what you've done.-
Quirin followed his son to a little corner where a table was located, Varian taking out each test tube and then the brown-ish liquid. He grabbed a little berry plant near the window (which had a garden outside it) and left the plant on the table.
-Okay, so I came to the conclusion that because of the snowstorm, the food froze and was now ruined. I started working in this and after some attempts, I finally calibrated the formula!- He grabbed a tiny drop of the liquid in his test liquid, pouring it on the berry.
Quirin looked at the plant and so, after a minute, the plant began to grow slowly but continously. He gasped softly, amazed by what his son had done.
-And basically I can make food grow -in a slow rate, obviously- but I have no problem with waiting!- Both looked at the plant, at the size of a proper strawberry.
-Varian, I...- Quirin grabbed the strawberry that stopped growing by its regular size and smiled with such joy, hugging his son.
-I'm so impressed by this. You managed to do this all by yourself!-
-A-Are you proud of me, dad?- Varian asked, feeling excited and happy to hear the answer.
-How could I not be proud of you? All the times you done an experiment I really was proud of just having a son like you.- Quirin hugged tight Varian and he laughed softly, knowing that he finally made his father see -and rather know- that maybe after all this time, he was proud of him.
-I only have one question and you might have guessed it, am I right?-
Varian nodded and took the berry out of its place, taking a little bite and smiling.-It tastes like a normal berry, take a bite.- He offered his father the berry and he chewed a tiny part from it, tasting the sweet and sour mixture of common flavor in the well-known berry.
-It is. I will be back, Varian but trust me and let me show them that they were wrong about you afterall.- Turning around, Quirin whispered with a soft smile
-"I knew someday you could do it, Varian."- Varian seemed to not have heard it, still glee about how things turned out.
-See you later, dad!- He waved to his father, watching him walk out of the room.
-HOLY ALMIGHTY ALCHEMY, RUDIGER! I did it!!- He picked the sleepy raccoon, suddenly waking him up, something that the poor Rudiger didn't liked at all.
-I-I'm sorry buddy, heh.- He left Rudiger on his new bed and started petting him softly, trying to calm down him.
-I really did it, Rudiger. I-I just... can't believe it.- He smiled to himself and sat on bed, wondering a bit and drowning himself inside his thoughts...
-If (Y/n) hadn't saved me and my dad, I wouldn't be able to achieve this. So, thank you very much, whoever you are."

A/n: Yayyy, happy time everyone :)! Also, for anyone who have heard about a certain "Microsoft Office competition" thing, tomorrow is a big day so... I can't get out of my head compiting against others from my own country (Panama) and then, if I get the highest score, to compete against others worldwide. It's scary but exciting at the same time. Please wish me good luck because I feel like I'll need a lot of courageee ~.~
