Right when I got through the door, I felt relief wash over me that I was finally home. "You're home early," my dad smiled. "Yeah, I know. There was no point staying out late," I replied. "Is this about the other night?" he asked. I shook my head and he nodded in response. "Well, Aaron kept asking me when you were going to get home," my dad said.
I lifted an eyebrow and went to the kitchen dropping my purse on the couch on the way. "What does he want?" I asked getting some left over lasagna out of the fridge. "Something about a date?" he said. "What?" I said dropping my fork at the statement, "How can that moron get a date?" I asked putting my lasagna in the microwave. My dad shrugged and said,"Believe me, I'm just as surprised as you are."
I laughed and heard footsteps come into the kitchen. "Flora, I need your help," Aaron said desparately. "What is it? Can't find a matching sock?" I teased going into the dining room with my food. "No, I.. well, I need some of your advice." "About?" "Girls," he muttered. I bursted out laughing and said,"I didn't think that I would be the one to give you this talk." "Not about that, Stupid! How dumb do you think I am?" "Do you want to know?" I chuckled.
He looked aggravated beyond any boundaries and I tried to catch my breath from laughing so hard. "Okay, okay.. What do you need to know?" "Well," he said sitting down,"What would be a girl's dream date?" "Don't tell me you didn't plan the date yet," I said. He shrugged and I sighed. "Fine. If I went on a date, I would love to go in the middle of an empty field and stargaze. I would also like to be in bed and cuddle while listening to rain and music. Oh! And I would love going out to a candle-lit dinner at a nice restaurant just if you want to get to know more about the person," I said.
Both my father and Aaron looked astonished at my answer and I shrugged. "I'm a hopeless romantic. Give me a break," I said. "Well the best I could do is go to a restaurant.." he drifted off. "Then do that. And if you want the girl to like you, keep the conversation going as much as possible. But, let her talk. Allow her to express her feelings and her likes a dislikes. And you have to look nice, not trashy. You also have to act very gentleman-like. Understand?"
"I-I think so, but I don't know what to wear," he said looking worried. "I'll help you." I said, "Dad, don't put my food up. I'll be right back." Aaron and I went up the stairs to his room and I made a beeline to the closet. I looked at his clothes and tried to pick my selections wisely. I couldn't help but to think of Harry and what I would like him in. I picked out a plain, white shirt, so that you could see his tattoos more clearly, some worn out jeans, to compliment his legs, and a blazer, so that he would look nice.
Aaron looked at the clothes and raised an eyebrow at me. "Flo, I may be fourteen, but I know for a fact, that this is not my style. This would be that Harry guy's," he said picking up the blazer. I blushed and shook my head quickly. He gave me a 'come-on-Flo' face and I gave in. "I'm sorry," I said putting the clothes back up. "Flo? Are you okay?" he asked.
I realized that tears spilled on my cheeks from me remembering Harry and I's conversations from earlier today and I wiped them away. "Yeah," I replied. He paused for a minute and stared at me. I looked over at him and he had his arms crossed. "Flo, what did Harry do?" "You don't need to know.. Hell, you don't want to know," I said sitting on his bed. "Please tell me," he begged.
I finally gave in and said,"When I first met Harry, I thought that he was a bad person.. But after a while, I figured out that he isn't a bad person. He's a good person that does bad things.. But sometimes, he just explodes and I can't figure out what's setting him off. I feel like I am, because I feel like I get on Harry's nerves as much as he gets on mine. I don't like him, but I do at the same time? I don't know. It's complicated."
"Have you told him how you feel?" he asked. "Yeah, but he- it's not that easy," I said. He laid a hand on my back and hugged me. I smiled softly and looked at him. "I hope things get better," he said. I replied saying,"Hopefully they will."

"Okay Flo, here's what you have to do for me. Do you mind if you pick up Aaron's date and drop them off at the beach?" my dad asked. "The beach?" I questioned. "Aaron's friends have been setting his dinner up all day." my dad replied,"Anyway, I'll pick them up so you don't have to do it. You go have fun." "Dad, there's nothing to do on a Monday night," I smiled. "Sure there is! Go with Ashton to someplace."
I laughed lightly and smiled,"Okay Dad." My dad handed me the keys to his truck and Aaron and I went out to get in. I backed out of the driveway and saw how nervous Aaron was. "Listen, lighten up. Don't be uptight about this," I smiled. "But I am! I want everything to go right,"he said. "It will," I assured him. He nodded and looked out the window.
I thought about how Harry drove me to his place that one night. How his voice made me loosen up and have a little bit more fun. I smirked and turned on the radio. The radio started to play a song that both Aaron and I knew perfectly well. "If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman?" I sang while elbowing him in the arm. He smiled and sang,"If I'm alive and well will you be there holding my hand?"
"I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might. Kryptonite.." he both sang in unison. We both laughed cheerfully and I said,"If you sing with those pipes my friend, you will have yourself a girl." He slightly nudged my arm and I laughed in response.
After I dropped Aaron and his date, Jessica, off. I drove around town and looked to see what I could do on a Monday evening. I decided to go into a Subway to get a bite to eat before I drove any further. When I made it inside, there were a group of guys with piercings and tattoos conversing with each other. I got into line and decided to try to hear what they were saying.
"Did you hear about that party down the street?" one of them said. "Who hasn't? That party is going to be the biggest party of the summer!" Another one said. "Well why on earth did they choose it on a Monday? That's stupid!" the other said negatively. "David,"the first one said,"it doesn't matter what day it's on. What I'm wanting to know is what is going to happen." They all laughed mysteriously and I felt drawn to their conversation.
"Ma'am!" the lady over the counter said loudly, "Would you like to order?" "Yeah, sorry," I replied. I ordered my sandwich and as I went down the line, I listened more to their conversation. "What makes it so big anyway?" the second one said. "Ned, are you insane? Zayn Malik is hosting it! He hosts the best ones!" the first one said. "Zayn Malik, as in, the Zayn Malik? The one from Bradford?" Ned asked. "Hell yeah! They say that he was the one who partied the hardest in all of Bradford," the first one replied.
Ned and David looked impressed at Zayn's history, but then looked a little confused. "But Trevor, how do you know this?" asked David. "He's friends with Niall, Liam, Louis, and Harry, the ultimate party people," Trevor replied. "Ugh, Harry. I can't stand the dude," Ned said. They all nodded in agreement and went back to conversing.
"What do you want on it?" the lady rudely said. I hastilly ordered and went back to listening. "That guy gets all of the girls. I mean, just because you have an accent doesn't mean you can get all our girls," David said. I bit my lip trying not to join in on their conversation on Harry. I was using every ounce of self-control I had to not say anything negative about him.
"You gotta hand it to him though, he's good at what he does," Trevor said. "What does he do?" Ned asked. "Hooking up you idiot!" Trevor said smacking the side of Ned's head. "Do you think he'll be there?" David asked. My heart was pounding out of my chest to know the answer. Before Trevor could say anything the lady interrupted me. "Five-twenty-nine."
I got out my wallet and handed her the money. She gave me back the change and the receipt as she handed me my sandwich. I went to the punks' table and stood there waiting for them to stop talking so I could talk. "Guys," Trevor said looking up at me breaking up their conversation, "What do you want?" "Give me that address to that party."
