In the final scenes of "The End of Evangelion", Anno (its director) was so unsatisfied with Yuko Miyamura's delivery of Asuka's final line that he summoned her to the studio to revise it. However, seeing that the scene was between both Asuka and Shinji, Megumi Ogata (Shinji's voice actress) was brought to the studio as well. The director made the two of them mimic the choking scene in real life. Megumi Ogata being frustrated already, said she "nearly killed" Yuko Miyamura while recording it.
