In the library of the bunker, Dean and I walked in to see Sam waking up at the table, and Aiden and Amara sitting across from him. I was holding a lot of books, going through them.
"Ness, what are you reading?" Dean asked.
"Well, um, I finally found something on the seal of Solomon, but it's really weird," I told them.
"Yeah?" Dean asked. "Hit me."
"All right," I told them, reading from the book. "'The Mighty Solomon commanded unto his priests, Bind my seal'. But the jewel was of the cosmos."
"Jewel of the cosmos?" Sam repeated. "What does that mean?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe a--a meteorite?"
"Mm, yeah, maybe," Amara told us. "Well, forget what it is. Where the hell would that be?"
"It doesn't say," I told them.
Aiden sighed. "Okay, so we've got blood of a holy man, we've got fruit of the tree of life, but this piece of Kryptonite, we've been through every book in this place, and we've got jack."
Sam rubbed his forehead. "Yeah. All right, I guess we should check the archives again."
Brandon walked in with a box of big books. "Well, we're in luck, because I found some old Men of Letters books that we haven't been through yet."
"How did you get them?" Amara asked. Brandon placed the box down. "Brandon, don't tell us that you're putting yourself in danger because you're trying to help us."
"All right, then I won't tell you," Brandon told us.
Amara gave him a look. "At least tell us that you're being careful."
Brandon nodded. "That I will tell you."
I started to go through the books that Brandon brought. "No, seriously, like Amara asked, how did you get these? It's not like you can walk right up to the Brits to get these."
"Which is why I didn't," Brandon told us. "I still have some contacts that got these for me."
"But you never know if those contacts are gonna turn against you and bring you right to the Brits," Dean told him.
"Like I told Amara, I'm being careful," Brandon told us. "And my connection to the Men of Letters has proven to be of immense help, more than once."
"True," Sam told him. "But we just don't want you to get hurt for helping us, like what's happened to every single one of our friends."
Brandon shrugged. "Well... Let's just read up."
"Great," Aiden told us sarcastically. "I love books."
Aiden shook his fists in a fake cheer. We all started to read. Aiden looked up from the book he was reading with an expression of success that drew our attention.
"What?" Amara asked.
Aiden was just being silly. "Nothing."
After a long time, I tossed a book onto the table in frustration. Dean had fallen asleep while reading. I tapped his shoulder lightly to wake him up. Sam stood, turning around, walking away, but not before Dean, Brandon and I saw post-it notes on his back saying 'Kick Me', 'I'm Stupid, Ask Me', 'Dum Dum', etc, amused but confused, looking at Aiden and Amara, who were trying not to laugh, obviously the ones that pranked their uncle.
We heard Sam from the kitchen. "Oh, come on. Are you kidding me? Aiden! Amara!"
We stood, walking into the kitchen.
