Chapter Nineteen

Eloise POV

"Alright I'm done, now we have to lure Jake to the table," Jared said with a sigh of relief as he led us to the table and we sat down at it.
Pulling the chair up as we awaited our suitor our thumbs twiddled nervously.
'We have to do this, for Shanaye' Scarlet said inside our head.
'But what if we fail her?' Georgia spoke sadly.
'Then..we know that we at least tried' Scarlet said after a few moments silence.
"What are you guys doing! Leave me al- hi Eloise" he said and looks at us awkwardly.
We look at him and can help but feel nothing for him, there was nothing there..no spark..no connection.
"What's all this for?" He asks as he sits down cautiously.
'Should we tell him what happened to Shanaye or just..try to bond with him?' Georgia asks with a frown lining her eyebrows.
"Well, there's something important we need to talk to you about" Scarlet spoke before Georgia could.
'We are supposed to share Scarlet!' Georgia shouts in our head.
'I am, but you were too slow!' She shouts back at Georgia.
'Meme meme..mememe' Georgia mimics Scarlet.
" and what is that" he leans over the table and places his elbows on them with a small glint to his eyes that hinted at what he already knew.
"Well it's about Shanaye.." we say quietly.
"Shanaye?" He says with confusion.
"Yes, your soul mate? The reason you and your whole pack lives here?" We say with a frown.
"Nope never heard of her" he shrugs and leans back in his seat.
What the hell is wrong with him, is he pretending he doesn't remember or does he actually not remember.
'What do you think Georgia?' Scarlet asks quietly.
'I bet $100 he's doing it on purpose!' Georgia pipes up.
'Alright then, the bets on' Scarlet grins in our head.
"But how can you not remember your soul mate!" Georgia speaks and bangs her fists on the table.
He doesn't move an inch and leans closer looking her in the eyes.
"Because I don't, if you assume that I'm pretending I don't remember her then you're sorely mistaken," he says angrily and stands then stalks off without another word.
"Should we go after him?" Scarlet whispers from our mouth.
"I..say we do?" Georgia questions back.
"Yeah let's go" Scarlet finishes it.
We race after Jake as his door slams and we run into the door breaking it in the process as we corner him.
He backs up into his bed and slips over onto his back a small smirk on his lips.
"Do you really think that'll keep me down?" He says haughtily and switches the position so that we are under him instead.
"Y..yes..we did actually" we speak quietly.
Frozen from anticipation as he leans close to our lips as he murmurs.
"I do remember her.," he says an inch from our lips.
"But I can't feel her anymore, or the need to pursue something I feel isn't here," he says softly his eyes staring into ours and holding our gaze.
Everything was set in slow motion as he then says again "which is why the pack and I will be leaving tomorrow morning.." he adds.
"B..But..you can't leave!" Georgia speaks before Scarlet could.
"And why is that? Give me one good reason." He snaps and glares at us.
We stand up tall and push our finger into his chest hard "you're the only way that we can get Shanaye back!" We shout.
He froze, and looks at us an angry expression spreading over his features as he shouts "HOW DID YOU LOSE HER! You lost my fucken soul mate you piece of shit!" He growls and holds our collar in a threatening way.
"Well, it wasn't our fault! If you two would have just mated like you were destined too we wouldn't be in this situation!" We shout back in frustration.
"But how are we going to get her back now if she's the one I'm supposed to mate with, huh, she's my mate and I can't feel her so how is the mating thing going to work!" He growls in frustration his fingers grasping his hair tightly from stress.
