It's funny how the good times seem to fly by in the blink of an eye, but the harder times seem to roll on and on.
I think we all have a tendency to tell ourselves that the good times are scarce and ephemeral, that we will never be able to hold onto them.
We don't believe that the good times can last, so we act in accordance to this belief.
We expend all of our energy on trying to hold onto what we think is good, no matter if it's real or if it's artificial.
We chase happiness at the surface level, grasping on to anything that we think will lift us up, even if only temporarily.
We cling so tightly that we forget to look around.
We hold on out of fear, not out of true desire.
We hold on because we think it's the only chance we have at happiness.
We hold on because we think this is it
But then when we lose that one thing, that one thing that we were grasping so tightly. And everything falls apart.
You see, the good times only seem scarce because we keep chasing and chasing them, rather than seeing what lies right in front of us.
When we lose one thing, darkness doesn't win. The good times aren't as delicate as we think.
When we fail once, the light doesn't burn out. It's just a cloud passing through, a shadow up above.
Don't for one second believe that the good times are over. The light is still within you.
Open your eyes and look around. See what is still beautiful.
I promise, beauty is hiding in every corner.
The good times are still here.
Just take a moment to look for them. Look around you and within you.
