being awhile since i last updated. so, here's something a bit more longer. keep smiling!

On the hardest days, I think you just need to find one thing, no matter how tiny it may seem, to hold on to.

Something special.

Something that represents light on an otherwise dark day.

It doesn't matter if it seems trivial to you, or if it seems too small.

It doesn't matter if it seems insignificant, or unimportant.

Because it is significant.

It is meaningful.

It moved your heart a little, it gave you a second or hope.

So today, all that matters is that you hold on to it, and hold on to it tightly.

Maybe you made someone smile.

Maybe you watched a really good episode of you favorite show.

Maybe you opened up to someone about how much you are struggling.

Maybe you had a warm interaction with a stranger passing.

Or perhaps you received a good morning text from your partner or your best friend, or from your mom or your dad.

Though these moments might only take place for a small instant in time, none of these things are trivial, not in the least bit.

None of these moments are unimportant or insignificant.

In fact, they are the very opposite of insignificant.

These moments are reassurance that goodness exists.

These moments are reminders that life is worth living, no matter how
much you are struggling.

Think about that moment.

Realize what it is telling you.

Believe in it.

Let it reassure you that despite how bad you feel, there are little sparks of goodness still scattered somewhere out there.

There are still little stars shining down at you from a blackened sky.

And these little pieces of goodness are what are going to keep you going.

These moments are what will hold you up above the surface until you are able to see brighter days.

These moments are what you can hold on to when you feel like the rest of your life is falling apart.

So find one good thing.

Choose one light.

Focus on one moment.

And realize how powerful the beauty of that moment was.

Hold onto it and let it be your lifeline, let it help you to float on the surface of the angry waves.

And as the days go on, add these little moments up.

Chain them together.

And little by little, the good moments will outweigh the heaviness.

And sooner or later, the light will trump the darkness.
