Chapter Eight: Story Time

        Sydney pushed back a loose strand of her blonde hair while she loaded everything back into Steve's car. The next phase in the plan was to head to the Byers' residence to inform the others about what is going on. She sighed softly, letting Steve close the trunk although she grabbed his arm before he could get into the driver's seat.

        "You need to tell me what the fuck those monsters were."

        Steve looked down, tracing a circle into the dirt jumping when she hit his arm, repeating her sentence. "Ow! God," He mumbled, turning his head away. "I don't want you to get hurt."

        Sydney raised an eyebrow although she kept her grip on his arm. "Well, you almost got killed in the junkyard by one of those things so I feel like I have the right to know what's going on."

        His dark eyes went up to the sky and sighed as he looked back to the petite girl in front of her. "Fine, I'll tell you everything in the car but you need to promise you won't tell anyone."

        "Pinkie promise," She replied holding her pinkie out and smiled when he hooked his with hers.

        Sydney got into the passenger side and glanced behind her, listening to the middle schoolers as they began to discuss a plan. She looked back to Steve however when he began to speak.

        "The monsters are called demogorgons," Steve began as he started his car and drove back onto the road. "Last year they took a kid named Will Byers and a few days later, they took my ex-girlfriend's best friend, Barbara Holland." It did hurt him to speak of the red haired girl's name and explained what happened to her. He felt extremely guilty for what happened to her, especially since he just wants everything to be normal again.

        "What happened to them?" She asked with furrowed brows.

        "Will barely survived but Barb...Barb didn't make it," Steve stated with a sigh slowly turning down the street to where the Byers residence was. "I also killed one of those assholes with my bat," He ended on a lighter note. "Except it was bigger and it could walk on two legs."

        Sydney slowly nodded her head before placing her hand over his lightly which was resting on the console of the car. "Then let's make a plan and kill those assholes together," She told him with a soft smile on her lips as they pulled up to Will's home.
