"Max, slow down!" Sydney told her sister, sighing as she held the cloth of ice tight to Steve's forehead.

The reason her sister was driving was because the children didn't trust her driving since she was against going to the hole and it was true. She was responsible for them and if any of them got injured or worse, fingers would be pointed to the two teenagers put in charge of them.

"Nancy?"

Sydney looked down seeing Steve slowly coming to and looking at Mike who looked back at him with furrowed brows. "Steve," She whispered watching as he looked to her before reality dawned on him.

"Slow down!" He shouted then hearing Lucas in the passenger seat give directions to the pumpkin farm where the demogorgons have called home. "Stop the car! Stop the car!"

"I told you he'd freak out!" Mike shouted before everything slowly calmed other than Steve still freaking out when Max told them to shut up.

She looked at Dustin next to her shaking her head since this was basically his idea along with Mike's. She let the children get out when they arrived and looked down at Steve, removing the cloth from his head.

"Did you agree to this?"

Sydney only shook her head and shrugged. "They wouldn't listen to me so that's why my sister was driving."

She then got out of her brother's car, putting on the black goggles over her eyes and the red bandanna over her mouth then yellow gloves so she would not be exposed to what's down there. She ignored Steve's shouting, deciding that it was just best to roll with the kids rather than going against them.

After Steve had finally agreed to go down, she grabbed a flashlight and a red container of gas being the last person to jump into the hole. Sydney couldn't help the laugh that passed her lips when he scolded the children that he was in charge of leading the way since he was responsible if any of the middle schoolers also known as shitheads died down there. He reminded her much like an overprotective mother if she was being honest.

She looked around at the dark surroundings, not even noticing Dustin staying behind before hearing his screaming.

Dustin was gasping, the cloth protecting his mouth falling off as he rushed back to the group. His breathing was heavy as he looked up at them, the teenagers having a worried look upon their faces. "I'm okay."

Sydney shook her head and lightly pushed Dustin so he could get in front of her and looked around when they arrived at the core of the vines. She opened up the gasoline and poured it around the ground, a strong smell of gasoline filling the air. She set the container down when she finished and walked back to Steve, watching as he used his lighter to set the gasoline ablaze.

She glanced behind her every now and then to make sure they were safe, going wide eyed when Mike fell and a vine wrapped around his ankle. She ran over and began to pull him away, helping him up after Steve hit the vine a few times with his bat. A screech however stopped them in the tracks before they began to run when they realized the demogorgons were heading their way, stopping when they came face to face with one.

"Dart, it's me," Dustin began as he bent down after taking the cloth off his face and lifting his goggles so the creature could see him. "I'm sorry buddy for locking you in the storm cellar."

Sydney watched the young boy carefully, glancing to Steve before slowly walking past when they were given the go ahead. She was the first one out of the hole so she could help the shorter ones out, grabbing Max's hand when she was the next person to come out. She took the goggles and bandanna off quickly gasping when the demogorgons ran past the two boys. She quickly pulled Dustin up and moved back as Steve came out.

She sighed softly looking down at the hole furrowing her brows when Billy's headlights began to go bright, shielding her eyes from how bright it was only for it to die down after a few moments.

Steve looked down at the blonde and gave her a light smile. "Welcome to the true Hawkins, Hargrove," He whispered while pulling her close and kissed the top of her head.
