"HE DID WHAT"

"Shhhh... please Candy I don't want the world to know"

I continue fixing my wig and make up

"I don't know what I'm going to do, Im a stripper, the apartment isn't great and Im just scraping by trying to save for a house"

"Kill him" Amber slams her hand on the table

"I can't kill him thats murder" I laugh

"Men like him make me so angry, they just waltz back in not realising the pain and suffering they caused"

"Him and his wife didn't want the child so why now"

I sigh and sit down on the empty street

"I don't know, it doesn't make sense"

Candy walks over and kneels down in front of me

"You gotta see him, you need answers hun"

She takes my hand and squeezes it

"Were here for you, just like we have been from the start"

I slightly smile knowing these are my family, They took me in when I was 28 and pregnant and got me on my feet."

"Lola do you mind doing bar work after your shift" I hear the manager shout

"No problem"

The club was great, I was getting more shifts at the bar to save up more money, it was more hours but I was appreciative of them. It was my turn to dance, I gave myself one last look in the mirror before I headed out.

The room was black apart from the spotlight that was on me, the adeline was rushing through me as all eyes were on me. I moved slowly and carefully around the pole, I hear the cheer and whistles. I began to wrap myself around the pole and slide all the way down and shake my bum.

"SEXYYYY LOLA"

I hear the crowd shout, I jump up on pole and dangle with my legs in the air slide down to the ground. I can see the notes on the floor around me, I remind myself its all for a good cause. The music stops, the lights go out and I grab all the notes from the ground and rush into the changing room to put on some jeans and get behind the bar.

It was a busy Monday night and the place was buzzing, a lot of businessmen somehow find themselves in here after work, throwing $50 and $100 notes. I began to stack the empty glasses up and load them in the tray for washing

"Lola isn't it"

I look up and there he is, with his sparkling green eyes, sallow skin and dark brown hair perfectly on his head.

"Yes, Hi gentlemen what can I get you"

His friend looked at him and nodded

"Whiskey on the rocks please.. 2 of them"

I began to make the drinks and try hard not to look at how perfect he is.

"Here you go"

"Why don't you have a drink with us"

"No thanks, I'm working"

I began to wipe the counter and ignore his perfect chizzled face and the sweet smell of his aftershave.

He smirked and downed the whiskey staring at me, I could feel his eyes burning into me. I turned around and carried on stacking the glasses and by the time I turned around he was gone.
