The Deal...

It was a glorious Saturday morning and i arrive home at 4:30am and carefully take my heels off and gently make my way across the wooden floor. I check in on Hope and she is fast asleep holding onto a unicorn we won at a fair one year. I sneak out and head into my own room and slip into my nightdress and jump into bed. I stare at the ceiling and wonder how on earth I got into this mess and how on earth I was going to get myself out of it. I didn't have money for a good solicitor I refused to use the money for a house. I closed my eyes and let the darkness come over me until I was fast asleep. 

"Ready lets go" 

Hope drags me out of the apartment and races down the steps. It was a glorious day to be sitting in so we were making the most of it. 

"Come on mom" 

"Geez Hope hang on a second let me lock the door"

She was pulling at my arm to get out and go to the park across the road. It was huge with slides and swings and all sorts. We made it to the playground and she ran inside, I sat on a bench put my sunglass on and continued to read my book. 

A few minutes later I looked up and couldn't see her, I stood up and looked around and found her pink t-shirt. She was with a man, a man that looked very familiar. 

"Shit"

I opened the gate to the park and ran inside to Hope, he began to come up from the knee he was kneeling on so he was standing at full height. 

"I was just telling her to be careful she might fall over and hurt herself if she runs too fast" 

"Go on honey, go play and let us talk please"

She ran back into a group of friends and began to play

"Are you fucking kidding me right now Matt, your now a stalker" 

"Im just checking my child's alright, I have some... concerns" 

"Get out of here" 

I turn to walk away but he follows behind me 

"Why do you have to make this so difficult all the time, I just want to be a father and a good one and to show I'm still a good loving family man" 

"So you don't really care about her do you? you just want to use her as a pawn in your business adventures. Too bad were not interested" 

I storm off making my way back over to the bench

"One day she's gonna ask about me and she deserves to know me" 

I roll my eyes and pull out my book to ignore him and carry on reading where I finished off

"Riley dont ignore me"

I snap my book shut and stand up grabbing my bag and throwing it on my shoulder

"The truth... the whole truth or do you wanna skip the part out you were having a affair with a 16 year old, got her pregnant and then told me to get rid? "

I stood there waiting for a answer and he glared at me with nothing to say

"Exactly what I thought" 

I turned by back on him and found a picnic bench inside the park too sit at, Hope was staring over at me, watching me. I took out my book and continued to read ignoring him still standing outside, my hands were shaking and fear was creeping in and the realisation he had me followed had me worried. How much exactly did he know?? I watched Hope nervously as I looked around at everyone. Is he still watching? is he here now? does he know?
