Chapter XIV: Let's Get Down to Business [Part I]

There were ten chairs that accompanied the squadron's rectangular meeting table, which were the same shade of dark and had the Zaibatsu logo on each of them. Two chairs, one custom made for Jin Kazama, were placed on the widths of the table, and four chairs were placed on the lengths for the employees.

Jin ran his eyes across the distance of the table, making eye contact with the majority of his team. On his right were Xiaoyu, Lars, Alisa and Asuka, in that order. On the left were Lee, Josie, Leo, and Hwoarang. Across the table from him was a tea drinking Lili, which completed his roster of recruits.

Reading from their expressions alone, some were either exhausted, impatient, or uninterested. To make matters worse (for them), the clock's second hand moved steadily, filling the silence with a ticking noise that drove everyone who were already annoyed insane. Keeping that in mind with a smirk, he sipped on his coffee. This pissed Asuka Kazama off.

Instead of providing a reason as to why they were summoned, he wasted time. And he of all people should know the importance of time, meaning that he was most likely doing this on purpose. It was only five minutes since they sat down, but still, rude.

Being a strong woman of justice, she tapped her foot on the floor. His cup shattered instantly, the scorching hot coffee spilling on his chest. Alarmed by the burning sensation, Jin snatched the napkins from a shocked Xiaoyu's hands and dabbed his shirt.

Snickers escaped tightly sealed lips, but a certain red head went wild in his seat, laughing as obnoxiously as humanly possible to make sure his rival heard.

The blonde giggled along with her best friend, proving to Asuka that one of her many plans worked to make Lili smile again. After hearing her elegant rival's story in the clinic, she made it her mission to make the Monegasque as happy as she can be in the Mishima Zaibatsu. And it would be fun to mess with her cousin for a while. Asuka grinned proudly at her work. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

"Asuka." He growled, to the brunette's disbelief. Her face was wiped clean of any smugness, her jaw dropped. "What! How did you even know it was me?" She stood up defiantly with her hands on her hips.

"Because no one else here is stupid enough to do that." He snapped at her. "Now sit down."

"Rude bastard." She muttered as she fell into her seat, arms crossed.

The male Kazama heard her, but decided to let it slide for now. He nodded thanks to his secretary when she took the soaked napkins from his grasp to throw out. "Listen, everyone. After many, many, many complications," pointing to the Korean, the Osakan, and the Monegasque, "we have finally reached that point where we can get started." He announced to the group.

"Get started on what exactly?" Josie raised her hand.

"A war on G Corporation."

"A-A war?" Josie stuttered, her boss nodding as an answer.

"On G Corp?" The androgynous, conflicted, stared at her reflection through her cup of hot chocolate. "That's why you hired us all?"

"Yes. Lars, Alisa, Lee, and..." He looked around the table. "...Josie will be working as social workers while also carrying out tasks for the Mishima Zaibatsu."

"Fair enough." Lars nodded his head in approval, staring at Alisa clapping her hands animatedly.

"Excellent!" Lee stuck out a thumbs-up gesture, wrapping his arm around a flustered model, smiling like a fool. With an eye roll, the leader moved on.

"Xiaoyu, as you all should know by now, is the Mishima Zaibatsu main secretary." The said girl winked and held up a peace sign at her fellow co-workers.

"And for you four," he addressed the troubled trio and Leo, "you will be trained, some harder than others, to become elite soldiers for this organization."

To Jin's annoyance, the Korean let out an exaggerated huff. "So you're going to be yelling in my ears, too? I already had enough of that back in Korea."

"I'm aware of that. I've done my research, as I've said before." The cursed being stated nonchalantly, Hwoarang making a face at him.

"Creepy." Leo hugged herself and scooted her chair further away from the table.

Asuka grumbled, "If you did your research correctly, then you would know that I didn't sign up for this."

"None of you did, so your point is?"

"My point is that the shit that happened at Lili's party wouldn't have happened if you just left us alone. Maybe Mr. Rochefort would've still been alive." The words flew out of her mouth without her full awareness.

Hearing the Gang Mediator, the blonde stopped drinking her tea, not having an appetite anymore. Noticing this, the man stayed silent, along with everyone else who wanted to hear more.

Lili pushed her cup of tea away, clearing her throat. "Please excuse me." The Monegasque whispered as she stood up, then walked out of the meeting, ignoring Asuka's cries of her name. "Lili, come back! I'm sorry!"

The blue orbed woman wiped her wet eyes as she slammed the door behind her.

The Violet Systems owner whistled at the tensity left in the room. "Yikes."

"Tch. Look at what you did. Now go after her." Hwoarang shook his head, displeased by her insensitivity.

"Hmph. Some bestfriend you are. Just hurry up and get her, we've already wasted enough time." The pessimistic Jin Kazama copied his rival's action.

Wanting to yell at the red head and the spiky head, she fought back her urge and followed after her best friend. "I hate you both."
