“You’ll find out soon,” He said then turned to face and listen to the teacher.
I was thankful because the teacher didn’t make me introduce myself in front of the whole class. She just called my name and introduced me to the class for me which I found great despite of not being nervous in going to school today even though I’m a new student, I still get nervous when it comes to introducing myself. That was one of the only things I hate about in school.
The morning classes didn’t last long and before I know it, it was time for lunch. I closed my book, placed it inside my bag, and then stood up.
“So, Alice wanna sit with us at lunch?” Niall asked as we both started walking out of the room.
“No thanks. I’m going to sit with Red and the others.” I answered sharply without looking at him. What he said to me about them a while ago was still fresh in my mind. Red, Iris, and Louis weren’t that bad at all. I may be new here but I know if a person is good or not.
“Wait,” He placed his hand on my shoulder to stop me from walking. “Are you actually angry with me to what I’ve said to them?”
Who wouldn’t be?! I wanted to answer to him but I just shrugged and didn’t answer him.
“I was just telling the truth,” He explained, running a hand through his dyed blonde hair.
“Well, you don’t have the right to tell me who I need to hang out with because this is my life and I don’t even know you that well.” I said then started to walk out of the room.
“You don’t even know them that well also.” I heard him countered but I never minded him.
“Hey Alice!”
I turned to look at the corner beside the door and saw Louis smiling at me, I smiled back at him. “Hey Louis! Where are Iris and Red?”
“They’re still inside our room.” He answered then smiled but his smile quickly vanished as he looked behind me.
I turned to look behind me and found out that Niall was there looking closely at Louis.
“Louis, mate I. . . “ Red who was with Iris didn’t have the chance to continue what he was saying because he too saw Niall and became shocked. Iris looked awed rather than shocked.
“So Louis,” Niall began, crossing his arms in front of his chest, “I’ve heard that you’re going to be the new Captain of the Football Varsity Team.”
“Yeah,” He answered quietly unable to look at Niall.
Why were they being like this unable to look at Niall in the eyes? I mean, it’s just Niall.
“Well good luck with that,” Niall mumbled sarcastically I think. “And Red, tell Alice here the meaning of the lowest of the low.” He added sternly before turning to look at me. “I’ll see you later, Alice.” He nodded then walked away.
“And oh, Alice?” He walked back to where we were then leaned forward so that his lips were almost touching my right ear, “And by the time we see each other again, I hope that you’ve changed your mind about hanging out with them.”
He leaned back, winked at me, and then walked away.
**
“You’ve got to know the basic things,” Red said to me then took a swig of his drink.
We were now in the cafeteria having lunch. Since what happened upstairs in front of the classroom with Niall nobody had talked about it until we reached the cafeteria. I’ve been thinking about what Niall had said to me, why would I change my mind about hanging out with them for Niall? I really don’t get it. I looked around the cafeteria and looked for Niall but I didn’t find him.
