'When can I see where you're taking me,' I laugh, Hunter had me blindfolded, 'I'm so impatient!" Hunter laughed, "Trust me Jenna, this is worth every ounce of being impatient. I wanted to surprise you".
All I knew was that I was in Tennessee. We drove my Escape down from my parents to Nashville and Hunter asked me to wear a blindfold when we crossed into the city limits. "I trust you. I just don't like not knowing!" He didn't reply, but instead held my hand, gently toying with the engagement ring on my hand. He proposed at my parents house this past weekend during a family BBQ. It was so special and such a surprise. Even my dad teared up a bit.
"Two more minutes." Hunter assured me as we made small talk. I felt the car make a right turn and slow down. He parked and turned the car off. "Let me help you out." He came around my side and helped me slide out of the car. "Okay, so, I'm going to walk you a few steps away from the car", He turned me toward him and gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Quietly, he said, "Take off the blindfold but keep your eyes closed." I bit my lip but did as I was asked. there was a change in the level of darkness, it was sunny. Hunter counted from three, "open". I opened my eyes, facing my fiancee. His eyes were sparkling like the sun hitting the ocean, "Turn around" he said barely above a whisper. I turned and my stomach dropped and my heart exploded, "Hunter" I choked out. I spun back around to wrap him in my embrace "Is it..?"
"Our home." He said, returning my embrace and spinning me around, tears trickling down both of our faces.
