Y/N's POV

So, mom told me she got a new assistant. It's probably the second one this month, usually they quit because my mom is quite... Overwhelming.

She has a lot a rules and now she depends on assistants and people in general, it's like she forgot how to be an adult.

I love my mother but she's a business woman so she's always working and we barely talk to each other on the dayly basis. One of her last assistants became kind of my best friend. Her name was Nat and she was just 2 years older than me. She sadly had to move and now I don't really want to connect with any of my mom's new employees, wich is quite hard when you spend all your day in the same building as them.

I decide to use my mom's driver to drive me to a café right down the street from the so familiar building I spend all of my time in.

I walk in ready to get my drink when I crash into someone causing me to almost fall backwards.

I look up to see a guy with brown hair and a black T-shirt a bit startle. I immediatly notice the coffee cup he was holding a bit messed up.

"Oh God! I'm so sorry. I can buy you a new one." I let out really fast trying to apologize.

"No! I'm sorry, it was all my fault and this one is totally fine."

He smiles at me and his voice sounds like something I could wake up everyday to. Uhhhh no. Forget I ever said that.

"It's really not your fault I wasn't looking where I was going. I take the blame for this one. I could buy you something else or make it up to you somehow." I give him a little smile back.

Now that I'm really noticing, his smile is actually the sweetest thing ever. I could get used to it but I probably will never see him again.

"I take the blame and I would love to make it up to you and maybe get to know you. But I have to get this to my boss, I'm a bit late actually."

He says looking at the time on his phone and widing his eyes. Of course I'm taking up his precious time. Good one Y/N. Ugrh.

"Well bye I guess. I hope your boss doesn't go to hard on you and sorry again." I say and he starts opening the door behind him.

"Thank you, I'm praying. Have a nice day you." he smiles at me once again, I think I'm gonna melt.

Before I can stop staring and reply to him he leaves. What leaves me there looking at him as his figure gets smaller and smaller, disappearing in the middle of a small crowd. Well, that was an experience.

I finally get my coffee and leave heading for the my mom's company building. I greet the employees with small smiles and hellos as I make my way to one of the highest levels in the building where my mom's office takes place.

"Hey Y/N! Your mother is actually waiting for you inside." one of her assistants tells me as I greet her.

"Okay. Thank you." she nods and I make my way to the office's door. The thing I love the most about this is that I have my own space in this giant room and the most incredible view.

"Hi mom. I'm here." I walk in and see her talking to someone with their back facing me. I'm payinh more attention to my delicious coffee to be honest.

"Oh Hi darling. Come here. I want you to meet Zach, my new assistant." he turns to face me and my jaw drops a bit, an instant smile growing on both of our faces.

"Oh it's coffee boy." I smile making hin chuckle at me.

"Zach Herron. It's a pleasure to actually meet you." Zach laughs a little as we shake hands.

"Y/N L/N. I can say the same. So my mom is the boss?" I ask kind of laughing too.

"I guess. And she went easy on me." he basically mouths me the last part making me laugh.

"Well, I see you two know each other and go along well, wich is great because you're gonna spend a lot of time together. Zach, my daughter is always here so if you need help with something on your first days, she can help. Of course if she needs anything, you're there. Now I have a meeting so..."

Mom leaves the office and we stand there watching her walk away.

"She's right I can help you if you need anything." I give him a reassuring smile.

"Thanks. And I'm basically your assistant too-"

"No. Stop. I don't think of you as an assistant or a slave or anything. Of course I'll probably ask for your help though." I tell him and he smiles again letting his rosy cheeks get even more red.

And that was just the beginning.
