Things are going to get DARK in the upcoming chapters. I think we just needed a few mellow scenes to explain their situation and give our boys chance to prepare themselves... they're going to need it I'm afraid :')
Five hours later and Thor Odinson was dragging his sleepy sibling down Ketch Road, grumbling about sightseeing and 'making-the-most-of-a-bad-situation'.
Loki just followed along, sighing meekly at the occasional odd looks that were thrown his way.
He wasn't used to having people's undivided attention; the blush on his cheeks made that clear.
"We have enough clothing, yes?" Thor mused aloud, storming past shop windows with a focused frown adorning his hard features. "Son of Anders mentioned that 'Rent' has been 'sorted'... although I don't understand how an abstract noun can be placed into a physical category-,"
The God of Thunder continued his extremely loud rambling whilst Loki's attention drifted elsewhere, to the simple clock tower and magnificent gleam of the afternoon sun upon the riverbank.
People were laughing and chatting excitedly about their week, and Loki had only spotted several people anywhere near his mortal age.
Everything was so calm and the elderly didn't seem to care much for noise, which was why his older brother received so many weary glances.
"How about we eat?" Loki suggested, snatching his wrist back and almost tumbling onto the cobbled path. "What was that place we crossed on the way to the comic shop?"
"McDoodles?" Thor grinned, spinning around and storming off in the direction they had just come from. The elderly couple behind them exclaimed in shock and hobbled along, holding their chests. "Excuse me, Miss!"
A young girl (perhaps seventeen years of age) tuned and gasped at the tall and well built teenager before her.
His long blonde locks hung loosely around his shoulders and the white shirt highlighted his abdominal muscles beautifully.
Oh the girls at school would eat you.
"Yes?" she smiled politely, holding out her dainty arm to shake his.
She hardly noticed the skinny, raven haired child behind him.
Her focus was completely on the handsome brute.
Thor glared at her hand, blinking in apathy. Then, completely ignoring the attempted handshake, he pulled his younger brother from behind him and wrapped a huge arm around his thin waist. "My brother and I are searching for the 'fast food' palace." He glanced at the girl again, not understanding why she appeared so offended. "McDoodles, I recall?"
"Ha!" the girl exclaimed, making Loki wince and Thor frown. "You're trying to trick me, huh? Very funny, mate... McDonald's is right around the corner, on Oxford Street!" she paused, wiping fake tears of laughter from her grey-ish eyes.
"My name is Cassie Lint by the way. Are you new here? You really sound exotic. From the South, I'm guessing? Are you going to MarthaSecondary school? Are you living on Avenue 31?"
"She's so loud, isn't she?" Thor asked his brother loudly, interrupting the girl with no hint of sorrow. Her cold eyes snapped to the smaller boy, as if it were his fault that Thor showed no interest. "I had no idea asking directions required an entire character introduction."
Deciding to play along, Loki smirked up at his big brother. "Nosy females. I hear they are quite the nuisance. Especially ones that lust after men that are quite out of their league."
