Thanks a lot to those who voted.
This one is for you guys.

I never thought that I would meet someone like you but when I met you I stared believing that miracles are indeed true.

"Nobody messes with ACP Avni." she said.

Oh so her name is Avni. I thought.
Wait what! You are in police..I exclaimed.

"yes" she replied with her face gleaming with pride.

"Oh... OK..... "I replied in a weak and fumbling voice.

" why are you scared? What are you hiding, huh? "
She crooked an eyebrow at me.

I just stepped back and replied" Nothing you can understand.. "
I lowered my face. The past still haunts me.

Sometimes the scars of the past keep greeting you with faces you fail to forget or rather you don't wish to.

" Look mister I don't know you and neither do I wish to interfere in your personal matters. It's just that as I am a cop you can always ask me for help, it is my duty to help people ." she said hopefully.

I remember the same words flashing in my head although being spoken by someone else and probably with a different intention.

She snapped her fingers to take me out from my memoir, particularly the memoir I didn't wish to recall.

"I never saw you here before." I asked catechizingly.

"That is because I was transferred here just a month ago."
She replied.

Hey! You are talking to a stranger and that too a police man... oh wait a policewoman.
Back to it's work, my brain warned.

Oh but she is talking to you. And that too so nicely. She is a good human being.
My heart supported.

" Yeah even I think so "I said absent-mindedly.

" What? What do you think? "She looked at me like a child who doesn't know what the elders keep talking about all the time.

" No nothing just a bit of self talking."

" Maybe you should get yourself admitted to a mental asylum. You really need a psychiatrist. "
She said in a funny tone.

I narrowed my eyes and answered with pride "Talking to yourself makes you smarter. It is psychology, my dear."

"Hey don't call me MY DEAR. I don't know you, we are strangers." she rolled her eyes.

"Wow. Who admitted you to police? Must be some stupid administrator. You are a cop. A cop... Okay
And you are talking to a stranger. Didn't anyone tell you THAT DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS" I tried to annoy her.

I don't know but it felt good to hear someone trying to prove me wrong. To prove the great Neil Khanna wrong.

I looked at her, by this time her face was red and she was all set to turn me into her punching bag.

She stepped forward to give me a punch but I caught hold of her hand and turned her around.
Making her all shocked and suspicious.

She didnt look like a police officer, not to me at least. BUT she had that angry young girl thing in her and she was a damn good fighter.

Within a matter of few seconds she freed herself.

"Who are you? Those moves are trained." she inquired.

I could sense her getting impatient to know my name. But I wasnt an easy nut to crack and with that I replied, "I won't tell you. There are PRINCIPLES you know."

Her eyes widened and her frowned face made me chuckle.

"Whatever. But believe me I will find out. You don't know how much we are trained for such situations. " she smirked.

With a straight face I said, "I do and maybe even better than you."

Seldom life hurts those old cuts just make you strong. And to make you meet that someone who would heal them with love.

Hope you like the update.
