"Why the hell did you go pick her up?!"
"She's my friend Angel and she wrecked for God's sake!" Angel and I were fighting. He knew about Amber and he did not like her one bit.
"She could have called someone else though! Or you could have brought me with!"
"She needed help and I don't care about what she did anymore, Angel. I forgave her. I might not forget but I forgave and I helped her because she would do the same."
"I can't believe you Belinda," he sighed. "You're so damn naïve! You always do this! Someone hurts you and you forgive them for no reason!"
"I let go of things! She let go of it too! The only one who isn't letting it go is you, and you weren't even in the damn situation!"
"I can't believe this," he yelled, rubbing the back of his neck. "You know what?! Whatever! Do what you want because apparently my opinion means shit!"
"Don't yell at me, Angel." I hated fighting. "Get out."
"Excuse me?"
"I said, get the hell out!!!"
"Fine!" He stormed out, slamming my door behind him. A few picture frames fell off the wall and shattered on the hard wood floor. Tears sprung in my eyes after I jumped at the sudden action.
"Belinda," I heard Amber whisper. She had been in the house the whole time and I totally forgot. "Are you alright..?" She held my shoulder and it was comforting.
"Yeah," I said, my voice cracking. I knew I was going to cry and I hated that. She fully hugged me and I didn't hesitate to hug her back. I needed that comfort.
"You know what? Who cares, let's watch a movie, that seems fun," she said with a smile I loved. I couldn't help but smile back. "We could watch that new movie... What is it?"
"Lucy?"
"Yes!" she gasped. "They just put it on Netflix too!" I nodded. I did want to see that movie. We went up stairs to my room.
Halfway through the movie, she paused it.
"Amber?" She looked at me for a long time, light from the television softly glowing off of her face. Then she hugged me. She held on tight, too tight almost. I felt as if my heart would stop beating.
"I am so sorry Belinda. I-"
"Amber it's okay. Really." I pulled away from her and cupped her cheeks. Her eyes were so brilliant. She closed them, blocking off my gaze, but I didn't mind. "Amber, I forgive you. I only have one question, and it's why?"
"I have no excuse. I really don't."
"No, you don't. I'm not looking to hear one. What went through your mind when you played me?"
"It made me feel better about myself because I had you wrapped around me."
"Either way, it is done now. Nothing can fix it."
"I wish I could."
"Learn to accept it." Her mouth hung open a little bit.
"What..?" I rolled my eyes. Really?
"I said, learn to accept it."
"Accept what?" She pulled away from me, hurt in her eyes.
"That you hurt me. Accept it and move on. You can't fix it."
"So I'm doomed, basically? I can never fix my mistakes? Great to know," she said grimly, with a chuckle.
"Oh, I'm sorry you so effortlessly played me!"
"And I'm sorry! I've been sorry!! Is this how you are to everyone?! Make one mistake and you never get her again?! That's fucked up." I sighed. It was, but that was how it had to be. She stood, gathering her things. Then she dropped them and walked up to me. "I know you hurt, Belinda. And I get it because I was part of it. But sometimes I think you want to be sad. You never let anyone replace the hurt with happiness."
"I let Angel."
"Look how far that got you. He was focused more on the things he didn't love about you. He took you for granted and you let him."
"Get out."
"No. I don't care if you have to physically throw me out I am not leaving. I made a mistake but I care about you more than anyone else can, or fucking will." I sighed.
"You're right."
"About what?"
"Everything.." She leaned in and pecked me on the lips. No. I need more. I pulled her by the back of her neck and our lips crashed together. A tiny moan left her lips as I pulled away and I smiled to myself.
Don't leave again. Please.
