I woke up groggy, with the worst headache. Amber had a close friend who was supposed to be coming to stay with her and Amber asked me to keep her company on the long drive to the air port. I agreed. Dannie would be arriving in four hours.
Getting out of bed, I raked my fingers through my hip-length hair and walked to my closet. I pulled out a Green Day T-shirt, black denim shorts and a red plaid flannel. I grabbed my red All Stars and dressed. I walked to my mirror and smiled a little bit. The day after we got Dannie, I was getting a Doctor Who tattoo.
Angeline and I loved Doctor Who. I was going to get "The Doctor" in cursive just above my collarbone, and Angeline was going to get "The Companion" just above her collarbone, also in cursive. They were gonna be gorgeous.
"Hey," Amber said as she picked up the phone. "You ready?"
"Yeah. Are we taking one of your cars or mine?"
"Mine, I'll save you the fuel cost."
"Perfect. I'll be at your place in about ten minutes, be ready," I chimed with a smile. I hung up and walked to my car, opening the garage door. I backed out and took off to Amber's house.
"Hey! I can't wait for today!" Amber squealed as I hugged her.
"Yup, were gonna have fun driving for two hours." She playfully smacked my arm.
"Negativity is not appropriate today, Missy," she said in her cute little voice.
"Fine, let's go."
"I wanna go to McDonald's for breakfast!!" She did a little dance in the passenger seat and I shook my head, grin plastered on my face as we left.

"Dannie!!!" Amber screamed as she saw her friend.
"Amber!!!" They embraced each other and I smiled, seeing how happy Amber was.
"I've missed you like craaaaazzzzyyy!" I sat on a bench and let them chat for a while.
"You've gotten so tan!"
"I use this natural skin rub at home, it helps my skin keep a pigment." The girls bragged about their makeup and fashion styles for about twenty minutes.
"Guys, if you wanna make it back to town in time to get a drink, we have to leave now." It was almost four at night.
"Oh! You're right, Belinda!" Amber was so happy. "Let's go, Dannie!" We left the airport and piled into Amber's SUV. And let me tell you, that girl had a lot of fucking luggage.
"Belinda?"
"Yes Dannie?"
"Thanks for coming with," she chirped as she smiled at me through the review mirror. "We're gonna have so much fun!" She clapped excitedly and I prayed to the heavens I wouldn't choke her with her $300 scarf.
"No problem, you're Amber's friend and you seem pretty cool so why not?" She didn't hear; she was already talking to Amber again. Oh well, I thought.
Pulling in to Amber's driveway, I parked and got out, helping Dannie with her luggage.
"You're so sweet!" Dannie chimed to me. I smiled a little bit to acknowledge she had spoken, then continued taking luggage inside to the guest room. "Hey," Dannie said as I set her carry-on down.
"What?"
"Is that a tattoo?"
"This?" I held my left wrist out to her where the word "Dauntless" was elegantly inked into my skin. She nodded.
"It's gorgeous, Belinda." I smiled a little.
"Thanks."
"I want one but I'm scared."
"I got it on my seventeenth birthday. Didn't hurt too bad. It is a tender spot. Spots with more that just skin are not bad at all."
"Have you planned to get any others?"
"Actually, tomorrow I'm going with one of my closest friends to get one. Ever heard of Doctor Who?"
"Yes!! My favorite show!!"
"I'm getting 'The Doctor' above my left collarbone, and she's getting 'The Companion' above hers."
"That's so creative!!" I nodded.
"So, when you guys are done flirting about some dumb British television show, wanna get ready to go out?" Dannie and I both turned to Amber, scorn lacing our features. How dare she insult Doctor Who? Who did she think she was?
"Excuse me?" I stared through Amber's (gorgeous) eyes, in to her soul and shot daggers. If looks could kill.
"I accused you of flirting. Big whoop." I choked.
"I'm upset because you dissed Doctor Who."
"Whatever. Let's get ready."
"I'll have to go back home." She nodded and I left to my house. We would meet at The New Alibi Station. It was a pretty decent bar. I was probably gonna spend a lot of money and get wasted. No, I thought. The girls wanna have fun and they'll get drunk as fuck. One beer and I'll call it good.
I dressed in a Darth Vader tank top and kept my black shorts. I grabbed my Star Wars Vans and slipped them on my feet. I was going out as a Star Wars nerd to a bar. Oh well, fuck it, I thought.

"So, you come here often?" Some cheap guy was hitting on me, grabbing my tank top straps and I was getting pissed.
"Yes," I said sarcastically to the drunken sleaze.
"I'm a regular and I never see you," he said - okay, maybe slurred - , twisting a lock of my hair. Don't fuckin touch me. Just don't. I got cocky and had the perfect idea.
"Maybe it's because of that eye, baby," I whined seductively. He stuttered half of a 'what' before I punched him straight in the right eye. He fell on his ass and his posse of friends glared at me.
"Amber, Dannie, we should go, like, now." The girls drunkenly agreed and we left the bar before I started hitting that guy repeatedly with a bar stool.
"Good night," Dannie and Amber slurred before I took off. When I got home, I immediately took my clothes off. I was hot and sweaty and it was uncomfortable. I didn't even get to drink, I thought, remembering the sleaze ball I punched.
I went to my kitchen and grabbed some vodka. Fuck it, I thought as I took swig after swig until I knew I would have no memory of the night.
