“So what are you doing here, Grace?” I ask hesitantly, I mean like, I love her to death, she’s the only one that understands me, but she never told me that she was leaving school to come here.

“You left me a note, remember? I wanted to come… Is it wrong that I came?” She asks sadly.

“No-no! It’s not wrong; I just forgot that I had left a note…” I ponder on the last few days, trying to remember if I ever left her a note. Everything was so rushed that I don’t think I did, she could be making something up? But then she’s my best friend, why would she lie and how would she know I’m here?

“Well… Kids in school are spreading rumours that you got kidnapped then raped… Then killed…”

“I guess I gotta post something on Instagram so people know I’m not dead let alone pregnant!” I unlock my iPhone and go on Instagram.

“Take a selfie with me!” I plead. She just rolls her eyes and hesitates. We pull stupid faces and upload it without a caption ‘cause that’s how I roll. Ya hear me?

“So what do you think of me being a blonde?” I ask, flipping my hair as if I was in a Maybelline ad. Grace snorts and we both piss ourselves laughing.

“So what happened at the airport?” She asks, a flashback runs into my mind.

“Hannah Green?” The buff security guard stares at me.

“Y-yes?” I stutter. “Could you please follow me? Some new… Information has popped up about you.”

I take a glance at Jarod, he gives me a slight nod and mouths ‘trust him’ I turn around and follow him to a private room. ”Please, take a seat. We won’t be long… Hopefully.” He gestures to the seat in front of the desk which has a nicer chair behind the desk where he will obviously sit his fat ass.

I sit down slowly; a little worried about what he might say. “Your dad, Jarod, has told me that you used to be a spy when you were young.” My head half nods. He takes a glance at the paper work in front of him and writes something down.

“Mmhmm and I hear that you are on a mission, which is why you came to New Jersey?” He looks back up at me and I nod again. My voice has disappeared and I don’t trust it anyways.

“I also know that you used to be bullied in school.” Aaaand we know what’s coming, I nod my head.

“I would like you to note that in New Jersey, no one bullies and if there is bullying, us police take care of it.”

That just sounds cheesy, I thought to myself. Is he trying to promote New Jersey or something?

“Um… Officer?” I squeak. His head jumps up and his eyes stare into my soul. “Yes?”

“Are we done here?” I ask, whilst fidgeting with my bag.

“Yes-yes. Sorry to keep you waiting, I’m sure you want to explore the city outside these walls.” I take that as my cue to leave. I literally jump out of my seat, he sticks his hand out towards me and I shake it.

“So yeah, I take it as he just wanted to promote New Jersey. But it was so weird!!”

Grace lies on the floor, rolling around in hysterics. Her hair tangles around her face and she squeezes her sides.

“Hey I forgot! Look at what I brought!” She says in a sing song voice, as she sits up suddenly. She crawls over to her luggage and pulls out a bottle.

“No!” I exclaim, getting excited.

“Yes, I did smuggle in this bottle of vodka. I thought we would need a little something just to celebrate you finally getting a boyfriend! Even though he is fake and you have to spy on him to get this important information out of him.” She says the last part a little to quickly. She stares at me with wide eyes, frozen.

“Ah so you know. Jarrod told you?” I cross my arms and raise my right eye brow.

“No… Ugh yes, I know. Jarrod didn’t tell me. I kinda snooped around…” I let out an exasperated sigh. “Since when were you a spy?” Her voice gets high pitched.

“Grace! You could get yourself into a lot of trouble with that information! You can’t go snooping around, that’s a felony!”

She sinks to the floor and pulls a pout. A sneaky grin appears on her face. I half roll my eyes, what now?

“Are you ready to get a little naughty?” I suppress a smile but it fights its way and wins. I grab the bottle out of her hands and take a long swig.

“Aye aye aye, pass it over ‘ere mate. Don’t hog the whole bloody thing.” I pass her the bottle and cough as the burning sensation of the liquid runs down my oesophagus. I look towards Grace and see her scrunch her face.

“Don’t let the wind change your face! Or whatever people say that saying thing..” I forgot what I said half way through my sentence and started laughing. Has this alcohol already had an effect on me already?

“Is there something else in here?” I try looking at her but my head is spinning. “I threw in some other stuff but I dunno what.” She slurs.

I run towards the balcony and crash into the door. Ouch

Grace bursts out laughing and says something that I don’t understand since it sounds jibberish. I slide the door open and howl loudly like a wolf. The wind stings my face, I didn’t realize I was feeling so hot.

I feel another presence behind me and soon realized it was Grace. Her fingers curl around the cold metal bar. She soon joins in the howling.

The last things I remember that night was seeing a man covered head to toe in black enter the hotel room and knock us out.
