Wicked thoughts creep into the back of my mind,
But then I whip back into reality, I am the centre of attention. Especially now.
“TELL ME VERONICA! OR ELSE YOU AREN’T GOING ANYWHERE!” His hot breath suffocates me as he yells.
“I told you, I haven’t spoken to him since last year. You just choose not to believe me.” He turns around, pissed written all over. His shoulders heave heavily, his jaw tightens. His scarred fist curls; he takes a big swing at me and hits the side of my right cheek. My head jerks to one side as blood seeps out of my mouth and dribbles down my chin. I needed to gag.
“Dick” I mutter, spitting out the red poisonous liquid, as I speak.
“What was that?” He places his hands on the chair arms. His face merely inches apart from mine, which caused shivers to spiral down my spine.
I could run away, but the thing is, he kind of tied me to the chair. Lovely!
I bet rumours are spreading around the school now, saying that I’m some murderer or something ridiculous.
Isn’t my life just so swell?
“You’re so weak” He walks away from the chair.
The room stinks of smoke; every step he takes makes the dusty floorboards creek. A little bit of light shines through a crack of wood.
“You’re so pathetic, Jarod.” I spit.
“I do not know where he is.”
“Fine, if you won’t cooperate with me, then I’ll just have to kill you.” He turns around to face me.
“That won’t be any use to you. I could possibly know where he may be, but you wouldn’t find out because I would have been dead.” I give him a bitter look. He huffs in annoyance.
“Where could he be?”
I think of any possible place.
“New Jersey.”
