My eyes widen as I lift my gaze to the door. Fear strikes all over my body. I need to get out of here. Like NOW! My eyes dart around the room, searching for something, anything! I spot an open window; my feet silently walk across the floor, as I reach the window my teacher whispers,
“And what are you doing Veronica?” I freeze in panic.
Shit shit shit shit! I really need to get out of here. Thoughts run through my mind at a fast pace.
“WHERE IS SHE?” A booming deep voice yells, just outside my classroom, with the sound of a body smashing against a locker door.
“ANSWER ME YOU TWIT! WHERE IS VERONICA CARTER? Man, I thought I could trust you!” Everyone stares at me with shock and confusion written all over their faces. I bite my lower lip so hard that I can taste blood.
Hearing my name being said like that was like someone ripped through my carefully stitched up world and exposed the infected, pulsing red tissue that I thought was healing. (A/N: Please note that I did not come up with that. All credit goes to the person who made that.)
Dark memories crawl back into my mind. They flash before my eyes in a matter of seconds before I bring myself back into reality.
The classroom door slams against the door, I suck in my breath, not daring to make a single sound. His tall frame bursts into the class. His looks remind me of those long nights where I was trying to get close to him for answers, dark eyes, stubble, hair as black as death, and a muscular body.
His eyes dart right at me and a small smirk appears on his face. I start to shrink back towards the wall.
“Oh no…” I whisper, to no one in particular.
“Get off of me!” I shout as he pushes me out of the school. I stumble down the steps; something heavy hits the top of my head, making me collapse straight to the concreted ground. Darkness overcomes me, taking me away from reality.
