Jungkook kept on insisting to come and get me

Jungkook kept on insisting to come and get me. But I didn't want him to come and get me. I wanted to walk but he wouldn't take no for an answer. So eventually after minutes of me rejecting his offer, I said yes. Now here I am, at the end of my driveway waiting for him. I don't think I've ever been in the same car with him when he drives. But I trust that he's a safe driver. I mean, I don't have a choice at this point. I agreed to go to lunch with him so why not. After waiting for a few minutes, he pulled up in my driveway.

"Hey, you look nice today!" he complimented me.

"Thanks" I replied, getting in while putting on my seat belt. I avoided his stare as he started to back up out of the driveway. I decided to not speak much today unless he asked me a question or started talking to me first. I feel terrible for treating him like this but I'm not sure what else to do. I don't want to give him the silent treatment for just being in a relationship, with my worst enemy. I still want to be his best friend. But keep my distance to get over him. But what matters is that I focus on my ice skating skills. And my best friends, and avoid and let Jungkook "enjoy" his relationship.

Jungkook's eyes were focused on the road but something was distracting him. He didn't seem to be fully focusing on driving. But showed little emotion on his face. But I turned away from looking at him, before he could catch me.

"Have you started training yet?"

"No not yet, I will start next week"

"Cool...I got into choir"

"That's awesome Jungkook!" My acting skills weren't super good but he knew that I was being genuine this time.

"Thanks, I worked hard"

"You did indeed" I said, watching as Jungkook parks his car in front of the diner. I was about to open my door, but he stopped me.

"I'll open for you like a gentlemen should" He's trying way to hard to be friendly to me.

"Thanks" I sighed, getting out of the car as he opened the door for me. Jungkook and I walked inside, the smell of steaks and freshly cut salads. The smells weren't that familiar to me since I haven't been to this diner before.

"Table for two please" Jungkook asked the waitress.

"Of course this way" She smiled, leading us to our table. I felt awkward and judged as I walked past rich looking people. Woman in fancy dresses, with jewellery and not a single hair out of place. Men with suites and ties, hair smoothed back. Jungkook noticed how uncomfortable I was feeling. And wrapped his arm around me to keep me distracted. It was comforting but I still was unsure about all these eyes watching us. But Jungkook didn't seem to mind. Our waitress lead us to a table in the back of the restaurant. We sat down as she gave us our menus.

"My name is Lilly and I'll be serving you today"

"Thank you Lilly" Jungkook said.

"What would you guys like to drink?"

"I'll have a lemonade" Jungkook smiled, turning to me.

"And for you miss?"

"A water please" I smiled, watching the waitress write the drinks down and walk away.

"Water?!" Jungkook asked in surprise.

"Yeah water what's wrong with that?"

"Since when do you drink water?!"

"Since I'm going to be training and I need to be more hydrated" I replied simply, looking at the menu instead of Jungkook's eyes. Shock was written all over his face. He picked up his menu, looking at the options. Lilly brought us our drinks and walked away. I always drink water when I'm feeling uneasy, and today is just one of those days. After a few minutes of deciding on what to have, Lilly came back.

"Have you guys decided on what you want?"

"Yes I'll have the steak cooked rare, with mashed potatoes with chives please" He said, licking his lips as a sign of hunger.

"I'll have the ceaser salad, but with ranch dressing if possible?"

"Of course!!" She smiled, walking away again to the kitchen area as she took our menus.

"A salad now?!"

"Yes Jungkook I have to keep fit"

"Wendy you can't be serious"

"Serious about what?"

"This whole diet situation"

"Why does it matter so much?"

"I just don't want you to lose too much weight"

"Thank you for looking out for me" I yawned, looking out the window. Jungkook lost this battle of me wanting to lose weight. I hate arguing with him when it comes to situations in my life that I have a say in. It's my choice. After minutes of waiting our food finally arrived.

"Here you go!" Lilly said, placing down my plate in front of me.

"Thank you-"

"Hello? Babe calm down....what?" Jungkook answered his phone...? In a restaurant? During our lunch? Whatever, he can talk to his girlfriend. I'm not gonna wait for him and start eating. Our waitress left the table awkwardly as Jungkook continued to talk on his phone to Haeli. He stood up, getting up and walks outside so he doesn't disturb the people inside. I started eating and the salad was amazing. The ranch, lettuce, everything about it was just so good. But as minutes went by, Jungkook continued to talk. His food must have gotten cold already. I finished my salad within 10 minutes, it was a big bowl of it but it was worth every bite. Jungkook eventually came in.

"Sorry about that Wendy Haeli just-"

"JEON JUNGKOOK!!" A girl shouted with a high pitched squeal. Haeli found us and stormed over, angry and making the other costumers around feel awkward. Her face red with anger and make up plain as day on her face.

"WHY ARE YOU WITH WENDY?!" She squeaked, throwing her purse down in a fit.

"Babe...please don't make this a big deal"

"A BIG DEAL?! YOU'RE MY BOYFRIEND!!" She screamed, slamming her fist down on our table as my glass of water splattered all over me. Waitresses, Waiters and the costumers gasped as water poured all over my outfit. I sighed, placing a five dollar bill on the edge of the table. I got up and walked out of the building. I hope that one day, Jungkook will understand the amount of pain he's putting me through with Haeli.
