Slight Jealousy

Today is the day. I am going to ace my science test. I studied at the library and even at home. But the main thing I wanted to study was how perfect Vernon was. His face, voice, laughter and everything about him was just too perfect for this world! I could hardly believe how lucky of a girl I am to come across such a sweet and charming guy. We talked for about 20 minutes before I went back to studying. I never thought a guy would ask me for his number and yet here I am. Feeling confident in my test and having a new crush. Of course I would will Jungkook like my best friend, but I feel rosy and fuzzy around.

I walked into the school with Lenya and Teyone on both sides of me. They noticed how much my attitude as improved ever since yesterday. I'm smiling more, laughing a lot, and I'm getting back to being my old silly self. With meeting Vernon just once has made a difference for me. I walked with them with a confident stride, talking about how well life is. How a sweet, kind, funny and talented guy could walk into my life. His smile and his eyes and his everything. It drives up my heart beat into the sky and past the stars. I used to feel this way around Jungkook, but Vernon has filled that soft spot in my heart.

"So did you get his number?" Lenya asked, eyes wide with curiosity.

"Yes I did"

"After talking to one another for a couple of hours?" Teyone asked.

"What's your secret?" Lenya whispered, leaning in slightly, as we all laughed. I walked to my locker, seeing Jungkook standing there. I'm surprised to not see his girlfriend right next to him. She gets very protective and jealous real easily.

"You seem....well compared to yesterday"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Yesterday after practice you seemed a little down-"

"Jungkook!!" Haeli's squeal could break a glass. Making the pieces of it shatter all over the floor.

"Haeli not now I'm trying to-"

"I need you to walk me to class" She simply said, Jungkook rolling his eyes.

"Haeli you were just in class!" Jungkook was losing his temper slightly.

"Wendy!" That voice. I turn away from Jungkook and his awful girlfriend, to see the most amazing sight. Ever since yesterday.

"Vernon!!" I giggled in joy, running towards him. My heart thudding against my chest as I skip over to him. His bright smile could make any cold heart melt, it's so bright and welcoming.

"Are you going to my school now?" He shrugged slightly, with the same smile on his face.

"I guess so!" Gosh, his voice is music to my ears.

"Wonderful! Let's see where your first class is" I beamed, walking with Vernon to help him to his first class as I leave Jungkook and Haeli behind.

"So...is this your schedule?" I pondered, looking down at the paper Vernon was holding.

"Yep, are you fimilar with any of these teachers? He questioned, squinting slightly at the paper in his lap.

"A couple of them"

"Which ones?"

"Mrs. Zillo is a little scary and strict when it comes to her rules around the classroom, but so is her grading system. Mr. Ryans is calm and a warm person, pretty relaxed, reads poetry all day and gives us tests if we listened to him closely"

"Ah Mrs. Zillo, what's her-" The sound of milk splattering all over the back of vernon's school uniform stopped us from talking as I turn to see who the person was. It was Jungkook, but his was a combination of anger and embarassment.

"Sorry Vernon....I was deep in thought and I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and spilled my milk on you..." His voice sounded deeper than usual which is not normal for Jungkook. His voice is usually cheery.

"It's ok man, my parents can clean it out" I looked at Vernon who was totally chill but Jungkook showed the complete opposite. He looked like the spill was purposeful but I'm not one to make such accusations. Jungkook backed away and off to sit near his usual group of guy friends. All of them seemed to scared and nervous, and dangerously quiet. Eyes wide and looking around every corner. I bit my lower lip in wonder, why they were acting so strange today. I turn to Vernon to see him taking off his vest, shaking the milk off a bit.

"You ok Vernon?"

"Yeah, it's just spilled milk no big deal" He's so relaxed with a voice that can sooth my anxious mind and soul. But I turned to Jungkook again, seeing him stab harshly at the food on his tray. He wasn't like this earlier. I can only hope he's ok, maybe it was Haeli that got him in this mood. Which wouldn't surprise me at all.

"By the way how did you do on the test?"

"I aced it!"

"That's great I knew you could do it!" His words of encouragement filled me to the brim. Making forget about what happened earlier almost completely.
