Chapter Five
As we pulled up to a restaurant I was a bit confused.
“I thought you wanted my help with the welcome back performance?”
“I do. But I thought I would thank you by taking you out to dinner first”
“Thank you. That’s so sweet”
We walked into the restaurant and he pulled out my chair and everything. We had a table in the back where it was just us. We ate sweet corn, which I had never had before but it was nice. After dinner Harry took me to a bridge over a beautiful lake.
“So when are we going to get to the singing?”
“Well I thought because there is no one here it would be easier for us to sing without anyone listening.”
“Okay, Harry you go first”
I sat there as he sang Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. I couldn’t help but smile. He was amazing.
“Okay. Now it’s your turn.”
“Fine”
I sang a little bit of Skyscraper by Demi Lovato. I felt a little bit awkward singing at first because I didn’t really know him but I got more comfortable towards the end.
“Wow. You’re incredible”
“Why thank you. You’re not so bad yourself”
We both smiled at each other and laughed.
“How about I take you home?”
“Okay”
We sat in the car and sang, laughed and talked the whole way home. When we finally got to my house I didn’t want to get out.
“Harry, thank you for everything tonight. It was amazing”
“Your welcome”
“Well goodnight”
As I turned to open the door he pulled me back and kissed me. As we were in the middle of kissing Jake opened the door.
“Oh shit sorry sis”
“It’s ok. I better go. It’s almost my curfew. Goodnight Emily’
“Goodnight Harry”
He smiled and waved goodbye and I turned to walk inside.
“Well, well, well. Look who’s got a boyfriend”
“Jake, please don’t ruin this moment by being a dick”
I turned and went into my room and couldn’t stop smiling.
