Chapter Nine

Waking up Sunday morning everyone was still there. They were outside cooking on the BBQ; the smell of bacon woke me up. As I rolled over I felt a piece of paper under my blanket. I had no idea what it was as I opened it I read it out loud to myself.

‘Emily, I’m sorry about what I did to you. I never meant to hurt you. I need you to know I broke up with Caroline on Friday. I realized what a jerk I had been. I miss you so, so much. I wish I had never hurt you. If you read this note, without tearing it up can you please meet me Sunday at 11:00a.m at school? I really need to see you. Please meet me. Harry’

Oh my god. He sounds desperate to see me. I looked at the clock; it was 10:50 am! I had to get to school. I knew if I told everyone where I was going they would just try and stop me. So I quickly got dressed and snuck out my window and climbed down the ladder that was there from when Tara and I would sneak out to a party. As I ran to school I thought this may have been a mistake. I started to slow down but it was too late I was at school. There was no turning back now. I saw Harry standing outside the toilet where we first met. I have to admit, it was a bit sweet. He was standing there with the same type of purple flower he had given me the other Friday night.

“Hi Harry”

“Emily, you came”

He came up to me with a shocked and grateful smile on his face and he gave me the flower.

“Harry, just because I’m here doesn’t mean I entirely forgive you.”

“I know. I’m just happy to see you”

We talked for a few hours and he apologized every second sentence.

“Emily, I am so, so, sorry for everything I did to you. I just need you to know, I never wanted it to happen this way. I know you may hate me and you don’t have to answer right now but if and when you decide to forgive me I would like to take you out on a date. So, I hope you say yes.”

He kissed me on the cheek and left. I started to walk home and I thought about everything he said. I went over it 20 times in my head.
