Nash's POV:
"I'll drive you home." I whispered in Emily's ear. We enveloped into our embrace for what felt like hours. I let go of her and pulled my keys out of my pocket.
"No, its fine i'll walk home. I was going to leave with Anne but she left with Justin, so i'll just walk home." She said shaking her head.
"I am not about to put you in danger again." I whisper-shouted. I touched her cheek gently and leaned in to kiss her forehead. I watched as she opened her mouth, then closed it. She backed up from me a little, creating space between us.
"Why do you decide to care about me all of a sudden?" She asked.
"Emily I-" I said, but she cut me off by shaking her head and saying, "No Nash. You can stop pretending."
"No-" I started again, but Emily interrupted me again and said, "just stop."
Before she could interrupt me, I said, "Just let me drive you home. It's almost midnight."
She crossed her arms on her chest. She had a stubborn look on her face, but she walked towards the doors, adding an extra sway to her hips. I stared at her as I followed her to my car that was parked in one of the first spots near the house.
She waited for me by the car and I pressed the unlock button on my remote for the car. We heard a click and Emily climbed onto the front seat. I jogged to the other side and got in.
I ignited and turned on the heat. (In California, it's very warm but at night it gets pretty chilly.) Emily shivered and ran her hands up and down on her arms. I sighed and reached behind me to the backseat. I came back with a Hollister sweatshirt. I'd just bought it a few days ago. People could practically tell I was wearing Hollister by scent of it. I guess hollister employes sprayed the store with perfume or something!
I offered it to her, and of course she shook her head, stubbornly.
"I know you're cold, just wear it." I said and threw the hoodie to her lap.
I looked behind me and reversed out of the small parking space, being careful not to hit other cars that were parked very close together. I accelerated down the road towards her house.
I noticed she had put the hoodie on and I smiled to myself. I turned on the radio and she shot me daggers as a song came on. I recognized it as Started From The Bottom.
"Started from the bottom now we here,
Started from the bottom now my whole team fuckin' here." I rapped and watched Emily's expression carefully.
Her eyes went wide and then she stared at me with her mouth open and finally I could see amusement dancing freely in her eyes.
This song related to me, because I really did start from the bottom and went to the top. Of the high school caste system of course.
I stared at her confusedly as she switched the radio channels. She stopped on one.
"Cause he just wanted one thing
And I just wanted something to smile at,
& live for, & hug on (ohh)
I'd rather have quality than quantity
Ohh I just want someone that'll keep it
real with me." She sang beautifully. She smirked at me playfully pointing at her house. I rolled up to the curb beside her house.
I understood what she meant as she hopped out of the car giving me a small smirk while skipping to her door.
My hot breath fogged my window as I stared at her walk away.
I did miss her....

(MONDAY AT SCHOOL, DURING LUCH TIME. IT WAS FRIDAY NIGHT UP THERE.)
"Bro, that's the first time I've seen you smile." Scott, one of my new friends, snickered. He moved his light brow curly hair out of his eyes. I had smiled at one of his jokes. Usually I was the quiet and mysterious one who never smiled.
Worry twisted inside me. What was happening to me? I felt the good Nash surfacing.. Ever since friday. I felt so different. Ever since I saw Emily..
I couldn't let my fake image falter. All that hard work I had put in during the summer would go to waste. And we couldn't let that happened could we?
I watched Kacie walk towards our table. This was my chance to prove to Scott that I hadn't changed.
"Aye, Kacie, c'mere." I shouted to her, motioning with my hand to come over here. People's heads perked up to look at me, but I didn't care. I scanned the lunchroom while waiting for Kacie to walk over to me. She took a while, because of those big heels she was wearing. My eyes stopped on Emily who was quietly eating a sandwich. She sat by herself. Not even the losers and the nerds wanted to talk to her. I admit what she did was wrong, but Jovankah and Hunter shouldn't have gone that far. I also had a dare at my hands. If I didn't do it, then I would loose my popularity. If I did do it, looking at Emily, I would probably lose my popularity too. But who know's what was going through Colton's head. I doubt I would loose my popularity if I did it. He would probably congratulate me for doing it. I decided to go with the flow.
A voice echoed in my head.
"Wake up Nash. Wake up."
Where was this voice coming from? I decided to ignore it.
Kacie came and I motioned her to sit beside me. She smiled, flashing me with her white teeth, that were obviously whitened. She scooted closer to me until she was on my lap. I didn't really mind. Scott watched us quietly. I crashed my lips onto kacies, and she kissed back, putting her hands through my hair. Her long nails scrapped my scalp and it kinda hurt. I put my arms around her waist and she kissed me, her kiss full of lust and greed. She swiped her tongue on my lips and I let her explore my mouth. I didn't feel anything with her. Not one single spark or butterfly. NADA. I was only doing this, so everybody could see that I hadn't changed.
"Nash.." She moaned, stretching out my name as I kissed the side of her jaw.
"You want to go to my house after-school?" She asked, winking seductively. I knew what she wanted. Shoot, anybody could see what wanted. I noticed some people at our table, the popular table, were listening into our conversation.
"Yeah. What time?" I asked her.
"Right after school, my parents and sister won't be home then." She whispered in my ear. She nibbled my ear lightly before moving off the bench of the lunch table. She bent down to get her bag and her dress slid up her legs. Her ass was in my face, and I knew she did that purposely.
I smirked at Scott, and his face was reddened.
"You jealous bro?" I asked, the smirk still in my face. I swiftly got up from the lunch table, straightened my leather jacket, grabbed my books and walked towards the exit.
I looked for my ray bans im my pockets and bumped into somebody. I felt something liquid be splattered all over me.
"Watch were you're going dumbass!!" I shouted at the person. I looked at my ruin leather jacket. I had spent a lot of money for it.
I looked up to see teary brown eyes of Emily. She threw her trash behind me, into the trash can and ran out of the cafeteria before I could say another word...
