Ja'Nesha's POV
Spring Break came rolling around really quick. My mom got back home yesterday and as normal, she was fussing about everything. She fussed about a cup being in the sink, laundry detergent being low, and even the air in the house. I lie to you not, every chance that I get to leave this house, I'm going to take it. It couldn't be any worse than living here.
It took me about two hours to make sure that I had everything together and to make sure that I had everything. When I finally finished, I heard loud foot steps coming towards my room.
"Ja'Nesha, did you pack yo' stuff?" my mom yelled.
"Yes, ma'am." I say back.
She walked in my room looking like a mad man that lost his gun.
She looked around my room then she picked up my phone. Her eyes widened as she looked at the picture on my lockscreen.
"Who the hell is this?" she yelled.
My lockscreen was a picture of Ty and I cuddled up with each other.
"Who is this boy you all hugged up on?" She walked up to my face.
"It's my boyfriend." I responded.
She hit me across my face.
No tears fell, but my fist clenched at my sides.
"Wrong answer. You're fifteen you don't got no boyfriend."
I shook my head in disbelief and a tear finally fell down my cheek. "You don't even know how old I am."
"Yes I do."
"You said that I was fifteen, but I'm sixteen. I turn seventeen in two weeks, but I guess you don't rememeber that either."
Her expression turned to one of shame. "Oh, um--"
I shook my head. "How could you? You didn't even remember my birthday."
Her jaws clenched tight.
I grabbed my phone and walked out of the house.
When I arrived at Kiara's house, I found her sitting outside on her phone. I wiped my hand across my face to dry my tears.
"What happened?" Kiara askes me when she finished her call.
"My mom saw the picture of me and Ty on my lockscreen and she was like, 'You're fifteen you don't got no boyfriend', and she hit me in my face. I looked at her and said, 'You don't even know my age and you didn't even remember that my birthday is in two weeks." I explained.
"Dang, 'Nesha." Kiara said. "Are you going to go back home?"
I checked the time on my phone.
"It's 12:46. I'm not going home right now. I'mma just call Ty and ask him to pick me up."
I dialed Ty's number.
"Hey baby." Ty answered the phone.
"Hey, what'chu doing?" I asked him.
"Out with Chance. Why, wassup?"
"Can you come pick me up from Kiara's house? Me and my mom went at it."
"I'll be there in ten."
"Alright. Bye." I hung up the phone.
"So, Ty's coming to pick you up?" Kiara asked.
"Yes." I responed.
After ten minutes of talking with Kiara, Ty arrived.
"I'll talk to you later, Ki." I say.
"Alright, bye." she says.
"Bye."
I walked to the passenger side door and got in.
"Hey baby." Ty greeted me.
"Hey." I responded.
"What happened?"
"I don't even want to talk about it because it's really irrelevant."
"That's cool."
We pulled up to his complex. Then, we walked hand in hand to his apartment.
When we got to his apartment, Ty led me to his bedroom. I took my Tims off and layed down on his bed. Ty layed down beside me and face me then put his arm around my waist and palmed my butt. He looked me in my eyes.
"What?" I asked.
"You're beautiful." he says.
He kissed me.
"You're mighty fine yourself."
My phone began to ring. It was my dad.
"Hello." I answered the phone.
"Why did you leave?" he asked me.
"I left because she hit me in my face trying to play the good parent." I yelled into the phone.
"Calm down, baby girl. I'm sure she didn't do it on purpose--"
"Calm down? How do you want me to calm down and she had the mitigating awe to touch me in my face. Dad she didn't even remember my age or my birthday." A tear fell down my cheek as I yelled into the phone.
"She probably didn't realize it at the--"
"Dad, don't even take up for her. She tryna make me be like her and that's a no, no. I'm not gon' go around sucking everything I see just to get some drugs." I retorted.
"Don't say that about your mother." he says sternly. "When you get back home, give her a chance to explain herself."
"Whatever."
"I'll see you tomorrow."
I hung up the phone.
Ty pulled me in close and kissed me.
"You good, Ja?" he asked.
"Yeah." I responded. "I'm not even worried about that anymore."
He kissed me again, but this time he laid me on my back. He began to explore new places, but never took the next step further. He then began to kiss and suck on my stomach and twirling his tongue around teasing my belly piercing.
"Dang, baby. Why you teasing me?" I asked Ty.
He kissed me. "Because I just found your sweet spot."
I smiled. "You sure did."
I stayed over Ty's house until 5:30, then he took me back home.
When I got inside of the house, my mom was sitting on the couch.
"Where have you been?" she asked me.
"I've been out." I retorted.
She raised her hand to hit me, but she lowered it. A tear fell down her cheek. "I'm sorry."
I looked at her in astonishment.
She took the little box off of the couch and handed it to me.
"Ja'Nesha, I'm sorry for all the hurt that I have caused you and your sister." She hugged me then kissed my forehead.
After she walked into her room, I walked into my room and opened the small box. It was a beautiful, gold necklace with a gold heart lockett in the middle. I opened it and it was a picture of me when I was a baby. A tear fell down my cheek. This was the sweetest thing that my mother had ever done for me. Never in my sixteen years did I think that I would see my mom cry. I knew that there was a God in the air because she even apologized to me. I didn't tell her to her face that I forgave her, but I knew in my heart that I did.
