"Youre a vampire? Omg, like Edward?"

Baekhyun was always magical to Chanyeol. He was always loved by everyone around him, adored by both genders and praised by his teachers. So when he came to school on a fresh semester and completely changed, more than one person was surprised.

Chanyeol studied the boy for a whole week, hoping a smidge of his old character would shine through. He was like a river, so calm and so concentrated, but with a push of wind he could break that simple character and run wild. Chanyeol loved him all the same.

There he sat on the bleachers with his group of friends, a light peach t-shirt matching him perfectly. His blonde hair moved slightly at the whistle of the wind, but he wasn't bothered. The sunset was beautiful, and as he chewed his strawberry bubblegum, the laughter of his friends around him, he felt safe.

But there would always be Baekhyun. At the back of his mind, haunting each brain cell—each thought. He felt like Icarus. And Baekhyun was the sun. He loved him. Every precious conversation they would share. Every laugh that only fuelled his emotions further. Was it all nothing for Baekhyun?

The new boy. It seemed he'd taken that role. Despite having many friends, Baekhyun had lost them all. He'd stopped dyeing his hair, keeping it a simple black. He stopped laughing and smiling, keeping to himself if anyone was lucky to see him during lunch.

Chanyeol didn't like it one bit. He knew he shouldn't have cared as much as he did—he didn't want to fly into the sun as Icarus had. But what would be the harm in a little danger? Besides, if he loved Baekhyun he'd try to help. When Baekhyun smiles, Chanyeol stops breathing. He's getting pretty sick of breathing. . .

When Chanyeol spots Baekhyun, he's cooped up in his own small section of the library, his head in a book as he scribbles down notes on a rough sketch pad. Chanyeol feels out of place in his baby blue hoodie and his boisterous smile.

He wanted to approach Baekhyun, and so he did. Taking a seat on the table, he decided to wait until Baekhyun noticed him. Thankfully, it only took a mere few seconds and Baekhyun's brows furrowed as he saw the tall puppy invading his privacy, an intoxicatingly cute smile on his face.

"What?" He said bravely, which is more than he would usually say to anyone else. But this is Chanyeol, and deep down Baekhyun has hidden feelings for the soft boy. Chanyeol would always be there to cheer him up and make him laugh, but then everything changed.

"What happened Baekhyun? Why are you like this all of a sudden? I mean, don't get me wrong, Black definitely suits you, but everyone misses you! I miss you! Hyuuuuuung~~" Chanyeol whined, knowing it would get him what he wants.

Baekhyun looked as if he was debating with himself. On one hand he wanted to leave and never return and take the breath he knew he needed, but on the other hand he wanted to tell Chanyeol everything that had been hurting him. Every emotion he felt.

"Come with me to the bathroom and I'll tell you." Chanyeol followed like a stray dog, unsure as to why they were heading to the bathroom. He was happy that he'd finally be getting some answers after so long. After seeing Baekhyun so lonely, his status going from the most popular boy on campus with a lovable personality and a soft spot for Chanyeol to becoming a figure shrouded in mystery, scaring people away with cold glares and deafening silence.

Once both boys had entered the bathroom and Chanyeol had say himself down neatly on the counter top in preparation for the story, Baekhyun took a drag of air that was oh so painful to his lungs, but necessary for that 1% of human still inside him.

"I'm a vampire." He says, without flinching. Hesitantly, Baekhyun looks at Chanyeol. The latter is the type of boy to believe that pigs can fly, so he doesn't worry about not being taken seriously. He's worried about what Chanyeol will think of him. Sure, they were almost as close as lovers, but they were never real lovers. They'd never asked each other, and it ate away at both boys constantly.
